Hello all, newbie here.
I have recently got a lemans and have fixed a few bits but the side panel has got me. When the brake is applied the mechanism hits the panel and pushes it outward. I suspect that something here is not quite right and have enclosed a photo . If anybody could take a photo their side panel so i could compare and see if there is a part wrongly fitted that would be great . Thx in advance mark

Those never were the best fitting side panels. It looks like all the components are there. You may want to add a spacer behind the lower mount at the frame. This will move the side panel out some, hopefully enough.

Hi Mark,

You could say "yes sir they all look like that" , if spacing it out doesnt help , or "look right" then you can carve out a relief into the side panel - usually the rod does this over time anyway , it will sit better and put less strain on the sidecover mounts. Make sure all the rubbers , top and bottom, are in good condition , if loose , or missing, and the rod pushes on it , you will lose the sidecover one day when out on a ride......
Cheers, Dave
