having difficulty purchase engine oil, transmission and final drive oils per Moto Guzzi
specifications.
does anyone out there know of quality equivalents to the following:
agip racing 4t 10w-60
agip gear sae 80w 90
adip gear mg/s sae 85w 90

I live in Edmonton, Alberta Canada and the local Moto Guzzi dealer here
has a very limited supply of the engine oils but nothing for the transmission or
final drive oils.

thanks,
Richard

Re: 2009 stelvio engine oil, transmission and final drive oi

The "Advanced search" will show lot's of info on the recommended oils.

The general consensus appears to be:

For the motor / engine. Stick with 10w60 unless you live/ride in some extreme environment.
Popular choices appear to be: AGIP 10w60, Motul 7100 10w60, Redline 10w60, Motorex 10w60, Penrite 10w70, Penrite 5w60.

For the gearbox; AGIP 85w90 appears to be the only oil available in that weight.
And supposedly has some special additives. Or a whole lot of some standard additive; that gives it it's smell.
But if not available; then any synthetic 80x90 or 75w90 gear oil should be fine.

For the CARC; AGIP's 80w90 is supposedly nothing special. It's just typical 80w90 mineral based gear oil.
And as with the gearbox. If not available; then any synthetic 80x90 or 75w90 gear oil should be fine.

When I bought my Griso back in 2011; I ordered a case each of AGIP 85w90 + AGIP 80w90 directly from http://www.americanagip.com. Which is now http://www.eni.com/en_NA.
But then again; I am in the States. AND that website no longer appears to have an online order store. It only has a phone # to call for orders.
