Has anyone fitted aftermarket indicators?

Just wondering if anyone had done this and what they did to get aftermarket indicators to fit on the front. I am working on my own solution to this issue.

The problem is that the standard indicators have the bolt to attach the indicator base and a separate lug which the wiring comes out from. Most indicators of course, the wiring comes from the centre of the mounting thread. The mounting thread is too short to go all the way through the Guzzi standard light fitment, and too small an aperture to put a fixing nut in!

The solution I have so far is in the attachment below (awful pic, I know!).

The plates (pink) are made of thin alu at the moment, but they tend to twist when I tighten everything up so I need to either use thicker metal or make a box shape with another blank. It looks messy right now, but its a work in progress.

Has anyone else come up with a better solution for this? Please share if you have!

Hmm, might just bite the bullet and have the bike headlight mount helicoiled. Was trying to avoid this, but it's the easiest way.

I have some Rizomas I'm taking to my mechanic on Tuesday. Would like them in the stock stubbies, but we'll see.

The rears are going on the mounting spot on my HB rack.

Apparently I can't helicoil the brackets. Only solution I have been offered is similar to my own, or a box type to hide the indicator nut and spacers for the mounting bolt.

The Hepco rear cross bar for some reason would not fit on my racks so I don't use it. It isn't necessary for strength anyway. I use a pair of simple 90 deg brackets under the tail piece.

Please let me know if your engineer has a better solution!
