Hi all,
tried to install a Power Commander V on my Griso 8V (low mileage) with no succes :-(
Griso did not starty anymore and I got ECU error 31 and the service light.
Deinstalled the PC V but still getting those error messages.
Everything seems to be okay:
- cable connections are okay (also battery and ground)
- all fuses are okay
- battery fully loaded

When pressing the start button I can hear that the gasoline pump, stepper motor and starter are working but nothing happens ...

Any idea?
Can a (maybe defective PC V) destroy the ECU?
I could check the injectors or the ignition but why do I get an ECU error and the service warning?
Bike had no problems before.

Thanks in advance.

BR
Jan

Jan, something you did or disconnected is throwing the Error messages. You can see what the dashboard reports in the User area, or do you have a Diagnostic Tool? It is impossible for the PC to do anything to the ECU, as all it does is read the TPS voltage, and change the injector pulse width at the injectors. Are you using the PC-V & 02-Optimizer or did you do something to the ECU to eliminate the stock 02-sensor input? Is it still plugged in?

Hi Todd,
I just used the dashboard to read out the error and reset it (diagnosis menue via 12425).
No changes on the O2 sensor (same as Lambda probe?) just the standard PC V.
Removing the PC V and changing all back to stock does not help.
Is there any conncetion (I cannot see) which could cause that behaviour?
The injector connections are fine.

Hi Dave,
I have heard this before, but this is not documented e.g. in the workshop manual.

Where could the injector get a ground signal?
The connection near the injectors look perfect, also underneath the rubber part.
The spades are in the right positon too.
Is there another connection for them elsewhere?
ECU? Relay? ....

Not sure, but you might want to download the electrical schematic to trace the cables. Once you can identify which side should be grounded, perhaps temporarily introduce a ground to try and determine where the grounding is failing. I would also check the spade connectors to the cable for a bad crimp. Use a multimeter to check continuity with the spade and a pin piercing the cable's insulation. This is my best guess, as it was fine until you disturbed it when trying to include the PCV in the circuit.

You could also try swapping the left and right injector connections to see if the fault moves or not, to help determine if it is the injector itself.

Good luck.

I gave up and my dealer (a good one) picked up the bike.
The cable harness was dismounted (partial) and the connections were checked. After re-assembly the errors were gone. Strange ...
