My 2013 V7 Special has just under 2,400 miles on it. I acquired it a few months ago and have been doing the needed maintenance because I am not sure what service it had previously. Today was fuel filter day, I figured that it had the original filter but was not certain it was the problematic...
Removingstickers on ANY MOTORCYCLE surface is always the same.
Gently heat with a Hair Dryer (NEVER A HEAT GUN!)
Peel corner with fingernail.
Hold peeled corner with tweezers or forceps, while shooting warm air from hair dryer under the sticker.
Gently peel back sticker while continuing to...
Ken, please please please try a search first; https://www.guzzitech.com/forums/search/1291/?q=removing+stickers&o=date -- exhaustively covered here on the Forum. Hair dryer and patience, then goo-gone.
Before I go all rambo on these stickers is there an accepted easy way to remove the factory warning stickers from the painted areas? Moto Guzzi paint seems to be a bit more "sensitive" than factory auto paint. The ones on top of the fuel tank are the ones I'm most concerned about removing. I...
I just removed the stickers off the gas tank, fairly easy, used WD40 and a brand new razor blade and credit card, both came off within 30 minutes, after removing I used some goof off to clear the adhesive bed, and polished right away after. Perfect.
Will give the engine rev tip a try shortly.
Tip for removing ugly safety stickers from beautiful blue tank without damage: hot weather/tank is your friend, gently use finger nail to get key edges up a bit, then find a clean wooden clothes pin (not plastic), spray label with WD 40, soak, use...
Because I'm sticking a new battery in the Griso today I thought it might be worth doing a little photo essay of what is involved if you want to avoid problems. As long as the charging system is working correctly on the bike of you follow the instructions.
Which are included in the box...
I took stickers off tank, but do not think that was one.
I checked under my saddle and on other places visible there. Nope.
There is, however, on the stock can and OEM Termi a stamped-in-metal certification. It is on the back side and not visible without removing, craning like a sonofagun...
I took some advice from my dealer and left my bike in the sun before attempting to pealing my warning stickers off of my '06 B11. This worked really well except I left it for too long and the sticker left an adhesive residue behind on my gas tank. Does anyone have any sure fire ways of removing...
...and starts to peel easily, then remove the remaining residue with WD 40. But my Norge wasn't so easy. I had a real tough time removingstickers from my Norge and I probably removed more skin from my fingers than I removed stickers! I suspect that the Moto Guzzi stickers are different than...
Be careful what you use, my old white '09 griso had yellow marks around where the stickers used to be that had penetrated into the plastic. I think it was probably some spilled gas that soaked the stickers and bled their color off into the plastic. It might've been that the previous dealership...
...only managed a couple of hundred miles so far, but my ear-to-ear grin hasn't faded yet. I also spent two hours with a heat gun removingstickers! Plans are to mount a cross bar on the bars to hold a GPS, Purchase Hepco-Becker side racks and eventually mount Caribou cases. I already have...
