Stelvio Hand Guards on a Norge

I've had the Stelvio guards on my 2008 for a long time. I use the HeliBar risers, and all it took was a small rotation of the controls to line the guards up so they didn't hit the cowl. I did do a little extra work at the bar ends since I have the Throttlemeister heavy units; I used a...

New seat time for my Norge

I have a Russell Day-Long on my Norge, though I had a Corbin on another bike and was happy with it. The Russell is the only seat I will buy in future for anything other than a dirt bike.

Norge rear brake pedal disapearing under your foot?

My Brembos came with bleeder screws already in place - I just attached a vacuum bleeder pump, kept the reservoir filled, and pumped it through... I'm not sure Speed Bleeders would make that much difference.

Norge windshield motor no longer works

You need to remove the windshield and the trim cover beneath it that overlays the motor and mechanism. You do not need to remove anything else of the bodywork, but access to some nuts and such will be tricky (surprise!). Some small flex-head ratchet wrenches are helpful, mostly in 8mm sizes as I...

    O/P Sensor R/R

Good to hear. Keep a hold of that other wire, you'll need it when they eventually ship you a sensor with the new spade head. Now, though, it will be plug-and-play!

Norge windshield motor no longer works

If it's intermittent, chances are it's the motor or the connections to it. The wiring where it actually attached to the motor is every bit as sturdy and well-designed as that for the starter - and even lighter gauge. Last I checked (when I bought a new motor myself) the price had moderated, and...

Rostra Cruise Control Installation on '12 NTX

The one thing I found on my Norge with a Rostra installed is that the rod to which you have attached the link block in the last picture appears to be prone to strain, and the plastic caps at each end that grip the ball connectors lost their grip. I replaced the whole thing with a carefully...

    Oil pressure sensor change solution!

Just renewing the thread to announce availability of another batch of these kits. If you have requested a kit and have not received it, please PM me or post here. Nine more full kits will be ready to ship by the middle of next week. Also, if you do NOT need the old-style connector, let me know...

1200 2v. Lafranconi stage 1 race kit power increase

If it's an insurance company asking, then the answer is that it just smooths out the power delivery and sounds better. ;) After all, you don't modify a bike for more power, just to make it "better"!

    Check engine light..

Do a search for 'startus interruptus' and you'll find a number of threads that discuss the bizarre wiring for the starter and why it needs modification to make it a reliable system. You can do it yourself or buy an easily installed wiring and relay patch. The check engine light is most likely a...

OK - I give up. Norge reserve tank??

No physical separation of the 'reserve' from the rest of the tank, and no switch. The low fuel warning light (inaccurately called reserve, mainly because riders use that term) indicates approximately 3/4 of a gallon remaining on most Norges, but you won't see an official amount because...

    Replacement front tyre

As a veteran of a large ADV bike and hopefully a soon-to-be Stelvio owner, I would add this:Think carefully about how you are going to ride and on what surfaces, and how much of that is really, honestly, truthfully going to be on bad roads, off-road, or trail. Lots of us (including me in my...

Questions - Possibly Purchasing 2015 Norge

The gas gauges vary a bit - some are more accurate than others, and some may not ever go to the completely full mark. Rather like cars' gas gauges. On mine, after filling the tank, the gauge will go to about 3/4, then over the next 5 minutes will go to FULL. The top half of the tank is 'bigger'...

Questions - Possibly Purchasing 2015 Norge

The center stand has been pretty consistent over the years as far as size/location. Many owners cut some of the rubber stop in order to raise it a bit. However, the design for both center and side stand reflects the concept of the bike - a fast GT sport-tourer rather than a sport-bike with bags...

Swapping out brake and clutch levers

Although you've already done the job, one thing I'd suggest is that the pints that act as the axle for the levers be replaced when changing levers, particularly on higher mileage bikes. While the majority of wear occurs at the hole in the lever, the pins themselves do become oval over time.

Service Light came on @550 miles. No issues found, bike acts fine.

As Todd noted, the oil pressure sensor and its wiring in that period was problematic - I know, I've got one. Replacing the sensor will be helpful, but the long-range fix is to also replace the connector that attaches to the top of the oil pressure sensor. Do a search on the thread that details...

    Helmet Intercom Systems

I am a fan of the Sena systems, although the Cardos are certainly worthy products as well. Most all of the pre-built helmet systems give up a lot in terms of technical capabilities, ease of use and charging, and other factors when compared to Sena, Cardo and other top tier after-purchase...
