Best money I've spent on my bike to date. Going on 5 years and 35,000 miles on this sites GTM Shock Factory shock. Fit the longer dual control version on my Griso. Was gonna have it rebuilt just not sure where to send it. The UK site isn't very clear about it.
The both of the companies measured by scientific actuals and have proven dominance at competitive racing events around the world. The cliché "you get what you pay for" was written for this acousition....
Thanks John. That's what I was thinking originally. That certainly helps one understand how the clutch plate is actuated during use. My thoughts are on clutch replacement in the near future being at 70,000 miles nearly. The more knowledge acquired on subject the better.
Does the clutch fluid increase in the reservoir as the clutch wears? If one was to never change fluid for example, and after many a thousands of miles use. If it was overfilled to begin with, could it cause clutch plate damage similar to the older BMW clutches?
Well said Pete. The situation with for mentioned shop warning would take to long to explain. And it may be that since they just started servicing and selling Guzzi no more than six months prior. Perhaps the Mechanic was not up to speed on training perhaps....He may have moved on or completed...
Todd,
These builds of yours now completed. I have caught myself looking at the machines and discriptions of what's going on for hours at a time. With this latest machine, how far forward is the steer tube from the rear axel? It looks longer than stock or is that a purpose built allusion? Once...
KayJay,
----see
it forced me to be patient in regards to doing all my work including mapping myself with the help of this forum and a few tools of which, Todd sells most all of it. Including just sending him your ECU. He sells quality performance equipment only. Expensive yes, but you get what...
Fantastic! Well done! Get it back together and do some riding. I will contact you when I have time to ride the O loop. This time of year is best for touring due to low temps outside go enjoy.
KayJay,
Did You actually look down inside the two sides of the ECU itself? Those pins are tiny and if any are missing or bent it would be easy to miss without magnification. Again, in the end, that's what caused my Stepper motor error on dashboard.
I rode that looping lake road once and there were bikes everywhere. Often times groups taking a break at different points along the levee surrounding Lake O. As I remember the pace of many riders was unlike anything I've ever experienced outside of closed tracks and circuit racing. It was a...
Just keeping it light Scott. We have all been there right? I'll tell you what though, I think I'm a much better mechanic after owning an 8v but without the forum and fellas like yourself bankruptcy could occur without a decent job. No way could I make anything work with a labor cost for repairs...
And Kay Jay I have 5 words for you sir. Should of bought a Griso. Lol. Hang in there, once these bikes are setup, tuned, and sealed proper, they can become lifelong runners. I'm cracking 60,000 miles this year.
I checked with bike no kiss before bang developments and they no longer sell the 5AW adapters. Oh did I tell you all that they sent a set of 20 Molex 18-24 AWG micro connectors with the mirelli adapters as well.....
Scott,
Bike Developments Inc. UK I had to buy the 2 harness adapters to get the gaskets. No one sells the gaskets only. I looked everywhere on this earth. Oh yeh and the two adapters with rubber gaskets cost me $253.53US including shipping. Good times....
Either way let us know. I was pulling my hair out on this code issue. One thing I found out though in addition to the rest. Question for you- directly after you turn off the ignition key a healthy stepper should cycle it self back to seated. It's very subtle but with your ear close you should...
KayJay,
At a last resort pull the 2 adapters off the ECU. If any moisture gets inside it will corrode the pins or even just one. Just so happens it happened. I then purchased a pre-owned ECU 5AM and reflashed according to my particular setup. Can only state what works for me. My Stepper Motor...
Perhaps you are putting down some ideas for next builds while healing up Todd. Get well soon.
Question: I know a fellow who has lost most feeling and strenghth in left arm and hand do to Covid attacking nerves throughout his body(long hauler.) Would you consider it impossible to engineer an...
