You're better off just granny shifting the bike from 4th until 6th, Moto Guzzi won't do anything about it.
I was lucky to get a warranty claim on the uneven wear of the clutch, but changing the clutch didn't do anything.
I love the bike, but there are a lot of quirks that mess up the riding...
I'm at 12,000 km now on my V85TT and I've been having this issue since day one. I've complained to the dealer many times. I'm going on a short ride this week with the dealership manager, who's a friend of mine, so he can get direct insight of the issue at hand.
But for me, it isn't occasional...
Yes, sorry I took a while to update this thread, I actually forgot I made this thread.
But here's the update.
Yes, they changed the clutch under warranty. No, it did not resolve the issue. The symptoms mentioned previously are still apparent.
Also, I've been complaining about the transmission...
I honestly don't know how they would do anything that would involve implementation to 1st Gen bikes and reducing RPM at highway speeds, I just don't want to buy an entire transmission to make that happen :D
Right, tubed wheels is what I meant.
Am I the only one that doesn't mind tube wheels? Should I care :speechless::D?
May you kindly elaborate about the re-camming and why you wish they hadn't?
And yes, that over-drive is waaay overdue. They should implement it somehow so that even the 1st Gen V85TTs can have them replaced or...
Do you think these changes can be implemented on the 1st gen V85TTs? I don't mind not having 2 new riding modes, but the increase in torque would be nice to have, if it's very noticeable.
So I had a shop CNC machine a backplate and had a back rest installed. The bolts are very industrial, I know. I'll be getting some allen bolts that are more flush, maybe black powder coat the backplate and the backrest adapter, or just keep them as it is, I haven't decided yet.
The backplate is...
I feel your pain. I live in Qatar and regularly commute with a motorcycle, even during the Summer, which can get up to 55C (131F) during extreme heat waves, if not more. The cat doesn't help one bit during the hot season. Even during our winter season, which is slightly similar to California...
So I'm quite bored with the way the V85TT sounds when it's choked from that oven they call a catalytic convertor, and I want to install a Y-pipe and let that engine exhale with ease. Would it be detrimental to the engine where it could come to the point that an engine failure is just around the...
So, I have an update for those that are interested.
First of all, I've seen a slight increase in complaints around several forums of the V85TT clutch, which might not mean much or it could be just a coincidence. Nevertheless, here are the results.
After several weeks of waiting with the whole...
It's very good to be honest. I remapped using Todd's flash tool, and haven't complained since, I would suggest you go with that route. The exhaust sounds nice, and looks the way I want my bike to, so I have no issues from an aesthetics or sound point of view.
No complaints whatsoever from the...
No slipping, by weak I mean it just doesn't grab 'properly'. There is a delay between throttle input and clutch engagement, and you can really feel it during deceleration and when taking off from a stop. It just doesn't impose confidence especially at lower RPM, and I know this isn't something...
I actually did notice some difference in height between the low and regular seat, and I IMMEDIATELY changed it back to the stock seat after just one ride with the low seat.
I hated the ergonomics of the seating position so I changed it back.
I can't flat foot with the stock seat but with the...
Does anyone know of any other alternative options for the V85TT clutch?
I feel like the clutch is very weak , especially for offroading, and I just wanted to know if there are other options besides OEM for the V85TT clutch.
I feel your pain. Like I mentioned, I own a V7II and never encountered any overheating problems even at 48+C weather (120~+F) and I NEVER turned my bike off at traffic lights.
The V85 though is a different story. Like I mentioned before, I believe what we are experiencing is an issue that may...
