I don't use any "special tool" to get to the inner (small) seal. After stripping the rest of the rear drive down, I simply clean it well, then warm it in my oven or on my woodstove (during the Winter) and the outer race of the needle bearing will then drop out. Even a heat gun will sometimes...

VD prefix means it is an 850-T3. The 750S had a drum rear brake, 750S3 had triple disks. Both have a "VK" prefix. Neither was officially imported into the US though.
There is no left or right on the wiring diagram, only upper and lower. The right cylinder points set has a red wire, which goes to the right cylinder coil. Do you have a shop manual? It's all covered in that.

If I remember correctly, the wires from the points connect directly to the coils on the 850-T. Red wire to right-cylinder coil and green to left. They connect to the - (negative) side of the coil. A white wire supplies power to the coils, it connects to the + side of one coil, and a blue/black...
