    Head light woes

I was very interested in this thread because my headlight low beam is pathetic. It seems like I can outride it at 25mph. As for the switch near the brake lever, when I switch it up I have a low beam headlight, but no dash lights, and no high beam available. Is this the way it is supposed to work?

About to buy a 2014 Custom

Have about 17,000 miles on mine. Zero problems. Runs great, and rides great.

    GT Bar Risers

And if you were asking me, no, I have a custom fitted with the hard bags and windshield.

    GT Bar Risers

Just got my risers a few days ago, and haven't had a chance to ride much with them yet. I needed them more than most people probably do, as I have a couple of bum elbows, and cannot completely straighten either arm. So far, the feel is great. I will come back and add to this post after I've...

    Oh No - Not Tires

It IS a truck tire. And yeah, I have a half mile gravel driveway. Gave up trying to keep the rear wheel clean long ago.

    2020 Eldorado

Guess I was mislead. I was under the impression that Moto Guzzi was discontinuing the 1,400 altogether because it couldn't meet the new emissions regulations. Seemed like I had read that somewhere.

    2020 Eldorado

I stand corrected. Have you seen a later model than yours?

    2020 Eldorado

I was checking out cycle trader on the web, and noticed that a dealer in northern California has an ad for a 2020 Eldorado. I was not aware that they were still being produced. Before seeing that ad, I thought 2016 was the last year for them.

    Moving on from Moto Guzzi

Just shy of 15,000 miles on my 2014 California Custom. I bought it from a private party with less than 2,000 miles on it. Zero problems, unless you count pumping a very small amount of oil into the airbox. Runs great, rides great. No it's not a perfect motorcycle, but I've yet to find one of those.

New Purchase - Eldorado vs Cali Touring

One big difference is the handlebars, and therefore the riding position. The Eldorado has much different bars than the touring model.

    Just funnin' a bit

Did a 650 mile ride the day before yesterday, and a 700 mile ride back(different route) yesterday. Bike worked flawlessly. Was mighty cold the first couple hundred miles, and I was WAAAAAY under dressed for it (who would expect 26° in July?). Even the car tire that I run on the rear didn't...

    Just funnin' a bit

So my wife is right then! Ah well, she's crazy enough to stay with me, and that's what matters.

    Just funnin' a bit

HA! I probably made it sound a lot more exciting than it would look. I don't get too crazy on a 700 pound motorcycle.

    Just funnin' a bit

My house sits on top of a ridge, with a half mile winding gravel driveway down to the county road. I usually switch from veloce to piggy mode on the way up the driveway when coming home. Today I thought I'd have a little fun, so I turned off the traction control and left it in veloce. What a...

    Oh No - Not Tires

6,000 miles on it so far. I like it. I didn't think to measure the tread depth when it was new, but I really can't detect any significant wear so far. 195/65-16

    Clutch noise

    EXACTLY!

    Clutch noise

2014 California Custom. My clutch makes a fairly loud groan when starting out on a hill. Doesn't want to smoothly engage either. Seems to want to grab. Doesn't act up if I am just gently pulling away from a stop on flat ground. This is not something that just developed, it has always done this...

    2015 Moto Guzzi California Touring

Have the heads been off to check out the combustion chambers? Sounds like excessive compression, or improper valve timing for some reason. Maybe run a compression test on it.
