    First Anuual Alaska Rally

All paved now, both the Alcan and Cassiar. Taylor highway to Top of the World still has 30 miles of gravel. Only one more Hyder run done by the Washington and Oregon clubs that I know of . A group of us from Anchorage met a group from Alberta in Hyder a few years back. So it seems every 5 years...

    Norge weather protection

Bill, I have the MI risers with the hand guards I got from Dan. Big improvement! I like the more relaxed position. The cables are all stock with no restrictions. The guards do make it difficult to lock the steering, I will see if I can compensate. Glad to have them though, hands stay warm and...

    Dry Clutch Replacement on Norge

I realized today while doing some maintenance, before I dropped my motor out of the frame I removed the alternator and timing cover. Probably why I had the extra room.

    Dirt Road Norge?? Thoughts

SBaker, whatever you choose you will need a tire change when you get here. I would make arrangements to put more aggressive tires on when you get up here. July and August are typically rainy making the mud roads hell. Try to get a good long range forecast. The only bad roads these days are the...

    Dry Clutch Replacement on Norge

Sorry to hear it, when me and Dave Pazar (Rodekyll) did mine we were able to simply drop the motor without removing tranny. Dont know why yours was different(did you remove the front mounts?). Same on the install just jacked up and bolted on. It took a little wiggling but we got it back together.

    Dry Clutch Replacement on Norge

Yes that's what I did, I put a jack under it to lower the motor. A friend helped me put it on my workbench. If you put the bike on its centerstand you will have lots of room. I did it on the work table off its centerstand and still had plenty of room to work.

    Dry Clutch Replacement on Norge

I had to pull my engine for an oil pump failure that scorched a bearing. It wasn't very hard and gave good access to the clutch plates which I inspected while there. I left the transmission in place. Take care reattaching breather line, I cut the miniscule o-ring and had a nice gusher. Regards Matt

Need to lower footpegs on a Norge. Any info ?

Brian, I have the Goldwing pegs on my Norge. they lower your feet about 3/4 inch. The left peg rides on the side stand when it is retracted, other than that they are wider so you have a little wiggle room. I like them.

    Uh Oh Norge service light

Nick, If you can remove the rotor from your oil pump check for breaks. If so please file a NHSTA complaint. Thanks Matt

    Uh Oh Norge service light

The only puller I needed was for the belt pulley, after unbolting the others came off by hand. You have to do this to get the chain off before you can yank the pump. Just line up the gear marks before removing cam and crank gears. It all goes back together easy.
