    Plate part # 976554 leaking

The plate(Part # 976554) on the left side of the timing cover is leaking oil. Is the chain cam adjuster under this plate(The part description is called a "plug")? Can I just take the 2 bolts out & replace the gasket or O ring or if there is an adjuster will it pop out & how do I set it up?

    Article on the Griso!!!

I have 2 Italian bikes, 2003 Aprilia Tuono & a 2009 Moto Guzzi Griso 8V. I call the Tuono an Italian Mistress & the Griso an Italian Gangster!! Both nameseem to fit each bike. And I love both in different ways. The Tuono does everything right(Power, handling, comfort, etc)but the Griso cannot be...

What does a Griso compare with...in riding position?

As said riding position is truely personal. I'm 5' 10" 225lbs(No weight jokes!!). I own an Aprilia Tuono as well as the Griso. Even though they both have MX style bars & high pegs they are completely different. I think you might have trouble with the height & more forward position of the gegs. I...

Lowered front foot pegs for Griso

I have Buell 1" lower pegs on my Griso 8V & yes they will drag but you have to over quite far. I noticed that my boot will drag first so in tight corners I lift my foot up off the peg. My other bike is an Aprilia Tuono so I notice it more on the Griso after I get off the Tuono.

    Fuel mileage Griso 8V

Yes it can be if you do it all the time. The pump is sitting in the fuel & that keeps it cool. When you run low it exposes more of the pump. Ed, it's funny, the Griso used to vibrate everything on the bike at 5000 RPM. After about 5000 miles it stopped doing that!! It still vibrates at 5000 but...

    Full, Empty or Doesn't Matter

I have an 09 8V & I usually put ethanol Sta-bil in the tank & fill the tank to the top to cover the whole inside to stop condensation frfom forming on the bare tank. But I've been told that even the with the stabiliser the new gas doesn't last very long, maybe 8 weeks.

    Lubrication of brake calliper pins?

I know Pete is the king but I use a very light(And I mean LIGHT!)coating of aluminum anti seize on the pins. Been doing it for years.

    O-Ring master cylinder rod Griso

I had the same "O" ring on my Aprilia Tuono. I removed it, but if I remember right, I was told it was there to help hold the snap clip on the shaft. But it isn't necessary, just one of those Italian things I guess!!

removing rear wheel without factory stand

Don't remove the muffler unless you have to. The gasket that goes in the muffler & over the pipe is made out of a leaded type material & is easy to damage & also cost over $30(US)to replace! Mine got damaged getting it out of the stock muffler to put into the Termi.

removing rear wheel without factory stand

I have an Termi muffler & it doesn't have to be removed. Put it on before I had to changer the rear tire. Does the stock muffler have to be removed to pull the rear wheel?

    Fuel mileage Griso 8V

Yeah, I was always stunned by other people getting 42 mpg but that is what i am getting! No lies, I was very acturate on refills. I did get as low as 33 mpg at one time. I kept thinking the low fuel light was burned out!!

    Fuel mileage Griso 8V

I have a 2009 Griso 8V. When it was new with the stock map it got 35 mpg tops. I added a Termi pipe with db killer & #068 map. It went up to 37 mpg. This year started with a recall for a rear main seal. They put 15W50 oil(Had 10W60 in it)in it. Took it to Laconia for bike week. My son rode it...

2009 Griso 8V rear main seal

Im think if you have a good dealer that backs you up that Guzzi will cover ir because it's been an on going problem. I just made it under the warranty by 90 minutes!! Call on a Saturday nite after they closed until Tuesday. Good luck!

I have a 2009 Griso 8V. What are the numbers for the sparks plugs? On the NGK site they do not have a listing for the 8V motor.
