    Pyramid Plastics Fender Extenda

Craigclu, my Extenda looked just like yours, until I went for my first ride. Under firm braking (but not emergency), the forks compressed and the bottom edge of the Extenda got hooked up in the fins of the oil cooler cover. I didn't realise what had happened until I came to a stop and couldn't...

    Pyramid Plastics Fender Extenda

You're exactly right jdub, the Fenda Extenda does foul on the 8V Norge oil cooler cover. I trimmed mine by half and it still fouled, trimmed it again to about 30% of original length and still no good. After that I gave up and took it off.

    Norge 8v brake disc bobbins

Oh to have the joy of excessive movement in the disc bobbins!! I'm sick and tired of trying to create any movement in the bobbins to eliminate the mythical condition of "warped rotors"....I've spun the bobbins, drowned them in brake cleaner, all to no avail. I can't bring myself to cough up for...

    Norge 1200 8V "Fall Sensor"

Final Report: Installed the new Fall Sensor and repeated the testing done previously. This time the engine cut out when the sensor was at approx 60 degrees to the vertical, in both directions. That's what I was expecting to happen. Happy times... Pulled apart the old sensor and it's like new...

    Norge 1200 8V "Fall Sensor"

Update... So I can confirm my 2012 Norge is fitted with a Fall Sensor, and it was plugged in. I was curious to see if it was functional, and if so, at what angle. I removed it from its' mounting (but kept it upright and plugged in), and started the engine, then slowly tilted the sensor to the...

    Norge 1200 8V "Fall Sensor"

Thanks Dave for confirming what I thought. The Aprilia store notes that part number AP8124266 was superseded by part 584509. This suggests they are functionally the same, and probably interchangeable. Cheers, Greg

    Norge 1200 8V "Fall Sensor"

Greetings all, My Norge decided to have a lay down yesterday while the engine was running, and the engine didn't cut out. I'm hoping someone can help me out with the part number of the "Fall Sensor", as Guzzi calls it. Some Googling came up with part number 584509, which is listed for early...

    Norge hot foot

My understanding is that the "compensator" IS the catalytic converter. I have tried a cat-eliminator y-pipe myself, and apart from making the already poor fuelling issues even worse (Todd is right about the remapping), the bike was unbearably loud when fitted with a Mistral slip-on muffler. I...

    Norge 8v silencer

I had to undo both at the head and wriggle them forward until they came out of the cat. Make sure the header pipes don't hang by the O2 sensor wiring. The cat itself is a bit of a mongrel to remove - plenty of wriggling, twisting and a few choice words thrown in for good measure. Edit: I forgot...

    Oil leak help

Is there anything on the Borg Warner unit that confirms it has the same pressure range as the original Guzzi one? I'd be happy to pay $30 and sleep well at night.

    Hard Start Norge

Bisbonian, I know what you're referring to because my 2010 Aprilia GT had the "smart start" system, and I've seen it mentioned on this forum as well. However my 2012 Norge 8V does not have that feature - I have to hold the start button until the engine fires.

    Knee-cilinderhead room Norge 8v

I'm a short-arse at 5'7", and my knees don't touch the cylinder heat shields on my 2011 8V , however my 5'10" mate (with long legs for his height) has commented that his knees did touch. More of an observation than a complaint on his part. Also some people don't sit completely "square" on the...

    New Battery Breva 1100

I don't see the point in buying a Lithium battery to save 1 pound in weight when I'm carrying many excess pounds on my waistline. And has anyone weighed their Guzzi recently? Putting a Lithium battery in a Guzzi in order to save weight really is a pointless exercise.

2V 12 Sport - noise under engine braking, like a bearing

I've heard of people complaining about noisy huggers. My fibreglass hugger (whose brand escapes me for the moment) just sits there and quietly goes about keeping the back end of my bike clean.... I would think that a hugger would be noisy regardless of engine load.

    mirror vibration

The mirrors on radlefty's red 2V Norge (in photos above) are also fitted to the 8V Norge, and from my experience they don't suffer from vibration at any revs. They are common to a variety of Aprilias. And not being chromeplated, they don't rust.

BNS Side Stands - What's the Story?

I didn't want to hijack Todd's query regarding demand for Euro side stands, so I started a separate one... There appears to be a clear divide in opinion over the merits of the U.S spec side stands versus the Euro spec. My own Australian-delivered Norge has the Euro stand, and I've never looked...
