Norge speedo/tachometer instability (again!) Paging Ghost_bullet

Ahhh! It’s back! I went for a 400k ride last week and, on the way home, it all started again. Tachometer and speedo dropping to 0 and the “Service” warning light +/- the “ECU disconnected” warning. All the time, the bike never missed a beat. So - logic suggests it’s an issue where the...

Norge speedo/tachometer instability (again!) Paging Ghost_bullet

I posted an update a few days ago but it doesn't seem to have appeared here! Anyway, I cleaned the ECU connectors and the dash connector with De-oxit and, so far, no problem. I check the ECU earth for tightness and it was all good (I had replaced it about 3 months ago). So, hopefully, problem...

Thanks John. I plan to attack the problem this week so I'll keep the group posted.

Norge speedo/tachometer instability (again!) Paging Ghost_bullet

*** EDITED 7 MAY *** Corrected the name of the member I’m looking to contact! Hi all I'm trying to get in touch with "Ghost_bullet" who posted a similar problem to mine a few years back. Basically, my speedo and tachometer intermittently drop to 0 then back to actual speed and rpm again -...

Recovering Key Code with 2 Working Keys

A bit late to come into this conversation but I'm pretty sure you can scroll backwards and forwards when entering codes - so entering "9" is one click backwards.

Norge - clicking main injector relay

Well, "Nora" is back up and running as good as ever - thanks to all for your assistance. The ground wire was (or should have been) attached on the underside of the ECU so I removed the ECU to get to it. Has anyone been able to access the ground with the ECU in situ? Cheers Rob

Norge - clicking main injector relay

Thanks again Todd - I must admit I find searching the forums a little difficult - is there a "tutorial" anywhere on using search parameters? Anyway - now that's cleared up, time to reassemble. :)

Norge - clicking main injector relay

Thanks to everyone for your comments and assistance. There was a broken earth wire on the ECU - could Guzzi make that sucker any more difficult to access? I haven't reassembled the bike yet as I discovered a plug near the ECU that either wasn't connected to anything or I accidentally...

Norge - clicking main injector relay

Thanks Todd - that's somewhat comforting, I'm not keen on forking out for a new ECU! I'll check all of the grounds and see how I go. Cheers Rob

Norge - clicking main injector relay

Hi all. I'm desperate for some help.... 2007 Norge, fitted with Power Commander/Autotune and modified ECU about 8 years ago. A week or so ago I was out for a ride when the bike suddenly lost power and stopped. The dreaded "ECU disconnected" symbol on the dashboard. Turned it off - now when...

    ECU disconnected error?

I just discovered this thread: https://www.guzzitech.com/forums/threads/ecu-disconnected-error.14811/. Describes a very similar problem. Is the OP still in the forum? If so, do you have anything to add? Thanks

Thanks John - sounds like a job for next weekend. I'll report back with my findings. Cheers

    ECU disconnected error?

Hi all I was out for a ride at the weekend when my 2007 Norge started to play up: Whenever I rode above about 100 kph I would get an intermittent service light (the red one), the tacho and speed would both drop to zero and, sometimes and little graphic indicating the ECU was disconnected would...

    Sena communicator remote installation

Hi all Has anyone any thoughts on the best place to install the remote control unit for a current model Sena communicator on a Norge? If I clip it onto the left hand grip as proposed by Sena there is barely enough room left for my hand and it gets in the way when I reach for the...

Trouble travels in packs - Norge gearbox(?) clunk, clutch adjustment and error code

Just to close the loop on this, in case someone else encountered the problem ... I eventually discovered that there are two more pages of error codes that you have to scroll through <doh!>. The ACTIVE error was ECU 56 - vehicle speed error. I assume that when testing the clutch with the bike...

Trouble travels in packs - Norge gearbox(?) clunk, clutch adjustment and error code

Thanks John. That's comforting regarding the gearbox noise! Is there any way of checking if the clutch return port is blocked? I Think I've misinterpreted the dash errors. the actual error map is: A M 01 o x 02 o * [sometime "x" and sometimes flashing...

Trouble travels in packs - Norge gearbox(?) clunk, clutch adjustment and error code

Greeting all. It seems the Guzzi god has decided to give me an early Christmas headache and I'd be very grateful for some advice. The story so far.... I dropped my 2007 Norge (well, it fell off its stand) and snapped the clutch lever. No big deal - replaced it. New clutch lever -...

Tom Tom Gps, maximum speed recording.

Since your individual Tom Tom has not been calibrated, there is no way it would stand up in court as evidence. Relax and enjoy the ride! The South Australian police generally work on a 10% margin of error so if you were booked for 119 in a 110 kph zone, I suspect you were actually going faster...

    Norge center stand installation

Thanks again to all for your advice. I saw this screwdriver technique used on a drum brake spring in a YouTube clip and wondered if it would work on the Guzzi. I've actually decided to run without the centre stand for a bit but when I do reinstall it, this is the first technique I'll try. The...
