I have bought the OEM deflectors but they came without any instructions at all and I am not 100% sure how they are meant to be fitted. I can't find any decent pictures on the Web so I am hoping that some kind soul might be able to post some photos of them fitted so that I can use that as a...
Metzeler have apparently announced a new range of tyres (tires?) that sit above their 880 range. They are called Cruisetec.
cambriantyres.co.uk/metzeler-announce-new-cruisetec-v-twin-tyre/
They seem to have the right sizes although the rear option closest to Guzzi 1400 is 200/55 16".
I am not...
Spring is here (in NZ) and that means a wonderful long weekend at a Moto Guzzi rally. Upon my return I was washing off the crud and I noticed that there were a pile of dead bugs INSIDE the headlight.
It is not obvious how they got in there but I am hoping someone has a few tips on how to get...
I had Matris cartridge inserts fitted up front and a air of bespoke Nitron shocks for the rear. Took it for a 150km ride on some our typically dodgy roads and the results are great. I don't think I have got them set quite right just yet but initial results are for a more planted feeling that I...
I did too. I need to put something exactly like this before I head off on a trip in (our) Summer. I have never had to actually use a tyre repair kit before so I also need to dial up some You Tube clips to try and get the hand of that process before I find myself on the side of the road clueless.
I have the tourer model and I believe the fuel capacity is actually 20.5L in total. On my bike, the fuel light comes on when I hit the last bar and begins tracking how far you have traveled on 'reserve'. I like this feature. Very handy.
So, in your scenario you still had roughly 5L in the tank...
The white trim on the seat is getting a little (lot) grubby and I wondered if anyone has any recommendations for a product/process to get it looking like new again. I am just worried that attacking it in the wrong way will damage the surface.
While we are on the topic of cleaning tips I used to...
Wellington, New Zealand (pictured last weekend at Castle Point)
2014 California Touring
Purchased it in March with just 1750Km (1087miles) on the clock
VIN to come
I have added the Hepco & Becker backrest
Beautiful Rizoma mirrors waiting on adapters
Nitron rear shocks
Matris Cartridge inserts
Thanks for the feedback. Never thought about the idea of going to a 180 rather than the 200. Does the 180 have the same sidewall profile? Or is it simply the width that makes a difference?
Rain tyres. There is a lot of great comments on mileage but I would like to know specifically what people have experienced with regards performance in the rain.
As it rains (a lot) in New Zealand I am especially interested in feedback regarding which tyres (tires?) perform best in the wet (and...
I have a California Touring and I am looking into the best approach/products to allow me to connect a phone/gps unit, heated vest and the OEM heated handgrps. Ideally the solution will have have space/capacity to add further options such as power for a passenger vest.
Any sugestions...
Good to know. I have run mine to just 50km after the reserve light comes on and I was getting nervous so knowing I could have up to 25km more is nice to know. I
I picked up my new (to me) 2014 California Touring on Thursday and rode the 650km (400M?) from Auckland to Wellington the next day. Fantastic bike. Except the cruise control. I actually managed to get pulled over for speeding while I was fiddling about with this heinous set up. The cop was good...
