My 2016 V7 II started leaking in the same area at roughly the same mileage. Take it to the dealer for warranty work. The dealer will likely not have the replacement part in stock and it'll take them a week to get it, and a day of labor to replace it, so plan accordingly;)
My 2016 V7 II leaked at the same area with stock headers. it started leaking just as it reached 600 miles, so off to the dealer for warranty work it went. Not a well executed assembly of a not terribly good design.
I too have just recently used the reflash tool on my stock V7 II. It definitely gives better fuel delivery across the rev range, from toodling through the parking lots at 10mph, to railing it down the highway. Much simpler than disassembling the bike to get the throttle body/ECU out to send it...
I'll weigh in on the pro ABS/TC side; my V7 II is my first ABS/TC bike, and I've taken it through some iffy road conditions already, and first was just really impressed with the Pirelli Sport Demon tires. Then I realized it was the ABS and Traction Control as much as those tires that were...
I recently carried out the 1000km service on my new V7II and wanted to say thanks to everyone who has contributed to this service thread; it made all the difference in the world. Knowing the things to do that the service manual glosses over or assumes the performer would know a priori, ensured...
I've been running an Aerostich Kanetsu electric vest on my V7 II for a couple weeks of occasional use. It draws 45 watts at 3 amps.
I did install an LED tail/brake light when I first got the bike, so that is saving me some current, and so far I haven't been left flat.
It would be useful to...
definitely, everything you do for your bike brings you closer to your bike. I learn more about how the different systems work with each other, a little bit more about what the designer and builders were thinking, and there is always the pride that comes from taking care of business:cool:
All this talk of adjusting the clutch at the transmission got me giddy to do it myself, so this afternoon I gave it a go.
I turned the adjuster on the clutch lever side all the way in for maximum slack, backed the lock nut on the transmission side adjuster out a couple turns, then used a very...
That's a good question, Dabrucru. I have a pdf version of the engine manual and the V7 II service manual, and neither make any mention of adjusting the clutch at the transmission, or a tool for that small rectangular headed adjuster.
Anyone with experience making this adjustment have some...
I had to fiddle my clutch free play when I got my V7 II; it actually had too much slack, and the dealer mechanic (they just got into the Guzzi game) said it was supposed to be that way. Thankfully, they got the rest of the setup done correctly, so I just set the slack at the clutch lever and...
take my money!
Having a means of interacting with the ECU like this makes me feel more empowered as the bike owner, to be able to get the bike running it's best. That's the only thing I miss about carbs; being able to influence the fuel tuning personally...
I left the valve on the vent line, with an eye towards taking advantage of any utility it might provide, and with the understanding that they do crap out randomly. So far I have nothing bad to say about the results of the evap-orectomy. The bike runs fine; full tank, half empty tank, nearly...
