    Check your shifter arm bolt

Let's just say this isn't a brand-new problem. :) Never did find mine. I do like the Sato rearsets that replaced it. Interesting that the photo shows a lever attached that MG said didn't exist. ~ 'May be' my 2013 V7s was back to the future?

2013 V7R with Tekno bags and dash lowering bracket

How much storage space do you need/want? I use HB Junior bags @30 litres each with a Sealine 75 litre zip duffle secured across the top. If lightweight camping you have to pack 'smart' but 135 litres is a lot of space.

    Sato rearsets and brake return

It is definitely alignment. The problem seems to rest at the ball joint that retains the push rod. Rather than being more or less vertical, the ball is listing to its maximum lean angle. Looks like there will be two stages of spacers; one at the lever and a second at the bolt holding the ball...

    Whitehorse White Norge

.... you out there? I know of you, of me, and of a couple of Stelio, plus three modern V7 in Whitehorse. I've seen you frequent one of two Guzzi forums I read ... can't remember which one. Are you planning to attend the Ride for Dad? Care to help coordinate an Italian contingent? (We'd have...

    Sato rearsets and brake return

Thanks Aladino; I pulled the foot lever in prep to disassemble the whole rearset. I checked the return spring pressure and it worked properly so I put the gear lever back on... and it didn't work. Hmmmm? Loosened the gear lever bolt (almost out) and the spring worked. I put a spacer between the...

    Sato rearsets and brake return

Hi Aladino, thanks for the reply. Foot peg is furthest back and highest. Toe pedal is middle hole at maybe 20degree down. Hits the sole of my just in front of the ball of my foot when I press down and rides clear when I relax. Pretty much where I want it. If by piston you mean the connecting...

    Sato rearsets and brake return

I'm going to pull, re-torque, remount the entire rear-set this weekend. If that doesn't work then I'll be looking at where/how to mount a small spring. If you have any suggestions down that lane I'd be interested to hear them. Thanks. D.

    Sato rearsets and brake return

Finally got around to installing a set of Sato rear-sets I bought from Todd last fall. Installation was straight forward. I took the bike for a short 20 km ride to feel-out the ergonomics then came back in to tighten and locktite each bolt to the torques specified. I set the brake pushrod to...

    valve cover torque

Like you, Bill, I am in wrench art deficit. I'm also a long ways from help (other than electronic kind) So I went out and bought myself a wrench that measures in inch pounds. Cost a fair bit; but the peace of mind while putting back bits and pieces (for a novice like me) is really beyond measure...

    Which rear sets? (V7 special/stone)

No snow machines from Guzzi that I know of; but Italy still outshines everyone with these works of mechanical art: http://www.alpina-snowmobiles.com Tarrozzi makes universal rear sets as do a number of other European based vendors. In the end I chose the set that offered the greatest...

    Which rear sets? (V7 special/stone)

I bought a set of Satos from Todd. They arrived about the same time as winter so I haven't even put them on yet. Still have 4.5 months to get around to it. Jorge, spend the money. For me; I'd rather customize fit than compromise ergonomics. These aren't performance bikes, nor are they one-off...

Pacific Yamaha - how's their Guzzi maintenance?

Another bump for Gord and Valley Moto. Great service, great guy. Bought my bike from him and had it shipped up. He has answered every question I've had.

wire stone guard for V7 headlight

Anyone know where I can buy an old school wire stone guard for a headlight? I prefer to support motorcycle specialist resellers than generic eBay trollers.

    Barend mirrors

Wow! no wasting time at stop lights for you! I posted a suggestion last night at 20:18 and you had the job covered in your reply by 14:10 today. ... so can I call you when I need a part? Sato mfg is taking its time replying about rear sets fitting my 2013 special. :)

    Barend mirrors

Hi Joe, the only reason I went with the plastic washer was I knew I wasn't sticking to the stock bars. If you are happy with the ergonomics, grinding down the mirror insets won't take much time. Having a machinist friend though: rather than changing the mirror joint I'd be tempted to ask for a...

Landing gear stuck.... Side stand won't kick down.

Sweet car. Enjoy cradling a piece of history. Regarding bugs: I wish I had your problem. Then again, in another month I won't have that problem. They'll be frozen. :)
