    Selling my V7

I've come to the conclusion that the bikes venting system's ill equipped for my riding conditions with the rpm range that I operate in here in these mountains. Pulling up grades or even getting up over 80 MPH on the freeway on hot days it just dumps oil through the vent system. Can't make this...

V7 blowing oil through the rings

Re-routed the vent system to by pass the airbox and now on the freeway the airbox is filling up with oil and then it fouls the plugs. Only way it can get oil into the airbox at this point would be from the combustion chamber. So I guess I'll need to put this thing in the shop. Either way I lose...

    2013 v7 headlight wiring diagram

I ordered a new headlight for my V7 since the stock one is so lame. The new headlight have the standard 3 wire plug and the original have a 4 wire plug. So what color wire is for the low and high beams and the parking light. I know black would be the ground.

    V7 oil fill levels

I don't understand this thing about only fill it half way up or to the very bottom line on the dip stick. If the sump is a separate oil tank then how would filling to the top line of the dip stick result in an oil over fill situation. The factory put a top line on that dip stick for a reason...

    V7 headlight bucket fell apart.

YUP....it's very cheaply made and the inside edge that holds the chrome ring of the headlight lens on to the bucket is missing about half the edge, since it's been slowly peeling away. I had this very strange vibration on the bike at about 3300 rpm's and 3500 rpm's, turns out its the headlight...

    Engine breathing V7

So what are the signs of an engine that is not breathing well enough. Reason I ask, sometimes when I give the bike throttle, I get some slight knocking sounds, sounds like marbles in a can, very slight sound and not very pronounced, and then it goes away as the rpm's come up. Is this low...

    Kick stand cutout switch warning

When the factory mounted the crossover pipe they left that clamp bolt on the left side rest against my kick stand cutoff switch wire harness and then it cut through that harness and shorted out that kick stand cut off switch. I had to re-splice that wire and then rotate the clamp around so the...

    V7 fuel level sensor

I want to adjust my fuel level sensor further down because it comes on way too early. I need a picture of what this thing looks like. Last time I was in the tank and had the pump removed for the job to replace that stupid half plastic filter, I could not figure out what part was the low level...

    V7 spark plug wire issues

Have noticed the spark plug caps have a very soft metal clip that fit over the end of the plug, and tend to spread open when pushed onto the plug end. I've noticed they end up loose even after tightening them up with needle nose pliers. As soon as you push the cap back onto the end of the plug...

2013 Sump return line from airbox

Can you plug that line off if you vent to the atmosphere without any issues? Is it only an oil return line to the sump from the airbox or is this thing also a ventilation system for the airbox?

    Dunlop 404 on the back of y V7 2013

Put a Dunlop 404 on the back of my V7. Tire slips around on me under rear braking. It was OK in the hot weather but in this colder weather it's slips on me. Little bit of pucker factor. Good price and good wear except for it'll put you on your ass if you ain't careful. Won't be revisiting 404's...

V7,2013 oil in the airbox getting sucked into the intake

I know this discussion about the oil showing up in the airbox and then getting sucked into the air intake have been discussed to the point of oblivion. However someone posted on here that they were going to find a solution to this problem, other then oil fill level adkustments and such which...

exhaust sensors? 2013 V7 and newer

Should those be periodically removed and cleaned? I ask this because I read someplace that they can plug up with carbon and then cause the bike to run rich at lower RPM's fouling plugs? I don't know much about those sensors and wonder if they can cause issues like that or not? I've notice they...

    Extended sump oil usage relationship?

I noticed that before I installed the extended sump on my 2013V7 the bike used very little oil. With the extended sump it appears to use oil and push It into the airbox more. Anybody else notice this with these extended sumps? So I'm thinking that somehow the added weight of the extra oil is...

V7 2013 on oil venting problems

As some folks have found out this bikes oil head venting system is somewhat problematic. In that the heads vent into the airbox leaving oil to collect in the air box which in theory is ok because they left an oil return line ....two of them to drain the oil in theory back into the sump using a...

    V7 2013 clutch questions

How dependable are these clutches? How many miles to they typically last and how do you replace the clutch? Can the engine stay in the frame? Do you remove the transmission out the right side and then the bell housing separately or do you remove the transmission and bell housing all as one...

    v7 drive shaft grease

Is it ok to use a multi purpose marine grease on those splines? Or would it be better to use high pressure wheel bearing grease? Reason I ask is because I've noticed or have found a little bit of water penetrates into that shaft housing because the lack of a seal on the joint, metal to metal...

    Altitude sickness

Went up to Tahoe today and the bike once in awhile had trouble taking the gas or adjusting to throttle inputs. I found it was best to roll the throttle on slow or it had trouble taking it skipping and hesitating a bit. It also had trouble starting up there and going to a clear idle, wanted to go...
