I removed the evap and the one way valve on my 06 Griso several years ago when it was doing the same. All went well, no more noise, no adverse affect to riding.
Go for it :)
On a long shot: A couple years back I had a noticeable "clattering" sound that I couldn't pin down. Pete Roper pointed out the nut on end of main shaft may have been loose. It was  A quick check for tightness can be done with a socket slipped over it (access by removing the black...
I went from the Metzlers to Dunlop RoadSmarts (the rear is dual compound but not the front) and saw better wear And great handling. Couldn't find the Roadsmarts on my last trip and installed Perelli Angels instead, The Perellis aren't quite as sticky on start and stop but are surprisingly good...
The list of service codes is here https://www.guzzitech.com/forum/196/917.html.
Just use to access the dash computer and reset.
"Backfiring" is not common.... is the bike stock? Popping on decel is normally a sign of running lean.
Haven't noticed that on mine..... but
The display is to help calculate distance to empty :?: If your dash is set to read fuel economy instead of distance, does the mpg change as riding conditions do and does the displayed "miles elapsed" warning change correspondingly? If I rode more...
If you need it, I have a spare ( unmelted ;) ) airbox you can have. Also... I see Pinwall Cycle has a few salvage bits on Ebay that might help you out.
LMAO
Driving in Krete made me a safer rider: Never assume anything.... don't trust road signs.... and always be alert!
(sorry for the highjacking. Nice photos Daniel)
If you don't mind me asking... how heavy are you?
A lot of riders could benefit from other riders experience if we can match what someone of "similar mass" has already done.
( I am somewhat "robust" and adjustments for a 165# rider are not too good for my riding  )
Yep... the fuel tank does vent from the rear of the tank to that area. Also, just because the canister is there doesn't mean it was plumbed correctly :(
If you haven't done so yet, download the manuals for it from the downloads tab at top of the page. The illustrations should be very helpful
Maybe too far for you, but I spotted one on Motorcycle Malls web site. They're in Belleville N.J.
LOTS of eye candy in stock and the staff were really decent when I stopped in last.
  I see what you're saying. If I get your drift... at some speed there is a transition between the tendency to travel either left or right.
I've experienced the same effect walking after too many Guiness (an induced wobble) :P
Hey Wolfie,
Can you give us more details? The problem is likely unrelated to your oil.
Does the engine turn over at all... but not fire?
Have you opened the tank and looked while turning starter over (swirling indicates hose came off fuel pump)
Have you checked the neutral switch at the side...
Hey Matt,
Good to make your acquaintance!
Longer runs will dry out that "snot" this time of year. Can't wait to hear more about the new bike... keep on riding / posting
