Just back from our first two-up ride with Todd's full fueling package. Others here have described the results and so I will not list all of the same benefits that we're also seeing.
I am not sure I can do this justice, but what came to mind out on the road was...
"My will, incarnate"
I am now...
Dave, thanks for your comments and I did use petro jelly last time and so was a bit surprised as the last (first) time I removed the tank the connector came off much easier.
You know John, I forgot all about relieving the fuel line pressure. Ugh.
I installed the beautiful GT-Rx CNC cut aluminum airbox cover on my ‘08 1200S this past weekend. When I (finally) got the tank off and took the plastic plenum cover off, here’s what I saw:
Say what?
Thoughts on how this happened? I have had mice load up a motorbike muffler with seeds and...
I installed the replacement switch today and wanted to report back.
There are actually two connections. One under The tank, and the other is inside the instrument cluster. So, the last two replies were correct.
So, I received the replacement switch (from AF1 Racing). Thanks to Kiwi Dave for an accurate part number. The item I received is an exact replacement.
My question now is, where are the two connectors located? I don't see this mentioned in the manuals I have downloaded.
As suggested, I changed the mounting location to the inward side.
My concern over the angle of attack where the muffler meets the Y-tube ended up as a non-issue.
The muffler tab is now definitely closer (horizontally) to the center stand bumper, however is still a little over an inch away...
Thank you Brian. I like the idea of contact cleaner and its certainly easy enough to undo the switch and give it a few shots. I may give it a go this weekend, but that unfortunately would only solve one of the issues.
Yes, I considered that. Definitely looks like moving would better align with the center stand bumper.
Currently though the y-tube to muffler connection is pretty much in line. If I move the tab to the other side of the hanger...not sure but will give it another look.
Thanks!
Thanks Todd. I am still working with thel GT map that you provided with the reflash tool, installed when received. Would I need you to tweak the map again, due to the addition of the reverse cone muffler?
The evap canister is out of the bike, with all three hoses plugged and left under the...
Just got back from an extended ride with my wife.
This muffler - a little louder - nice tone!
Observations on deceleration popping... still persists but less persistent :). Not as pronounced, "edgy", obnoxious... less frequent, and when it does occur, more "rounded".
Is this due to the dry...
Thanks for the replies and advice. I am considering a replacement. The only part I have found that appears as a direct replacement was this one on eBay. This part is used, from another 1200S. The pics of that bike are a reminder that it's possible to have a bad day on a great bike. ;)
I used...
Regarding the stop tab, the center stand was installed by the PO, and I see no makers mark on the stand. I think he said that it is a Norge part, and mentioned that a bracket of some sort was replaced when mounting. I think I have that replaced part somewhere.
No complaint in needing to provide...
This past week I received delivery of this slip-on muffler from Todd. I ordered this in its polished version.
I had not visited the site for about a year. The last time I had, a similar model was already available for smaller displacement Guzzis, but until recently I did not know that it was...
I have a couple of 'issues' that relate to the left handlebar 'light switch'.
First issue: the high beam switch will not remain in the "on" position. Before I attempt to disassemble the switch to see how it is intended to work, have others had this problem and is there a fix?
Second issue...
( You never mentioned how you got home :) )
The same happened to me (us) about 2 hrs from home. Since I had just days before reflashed the ECU with one of Todd's maps my initial (erroneous) assumption was that this was related.
My first attempt to clear the error and get the bike restarted was...
A few years back I posted a review of my Corbin saddle.
I did a review of the Corbin seat that I bought for my 1200 Sport, back in 2014. My wife and I are still very happy with this seat.
Hi Tony,
Could you please confirm that this would be a correct replacement as suggested for my '08 Breva 1200 S? Is that the 1100 model gasket you described?
I just did my 1st valve job on the bike and had to clean off the stuck original gasket. I'd rather not have to repeat that.
Another issue with WD is that it evaporates relatively quickly. It will not last. In some cases this is a good solution, such as with cleaning firearms, but may not be best here.
