    RIP Griso Pinko.

As a (lowly) G11 owner I am reminded of something my father once told me that I find relates to the 8V - he said... "Son, you never want to try on the expensive suit." As long as I keep off the 8V I will be in riding bliss.... Oh, and good news on the insurance end. Rich

    Griso Pannier Question

I can't speak to the Agostini, but my G11 has the Termi pipe on it and I was told the Guzzi pannier will not fit. I believe the Agostini pipe is about the same profile as the Termi so you may have issues. My option was to get the Cortech Sport Saddlebags and they work well for the occasional...

    Roper's 8V dyno report

Once again I read the whole tale... (whew!) - Great stuff. The most important for me is the smoothed out power band - (but as I have G11 I already have smooth). Good to know if there is an 8V in my future I can get it running well, thanx for posting and... HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!! Rich -

    Dropping Oil Pan

Agip 10W60 is what I use in my Griso... (it's the good stuff) ;)

    Griso cracked exhaust - weld?

It's been 2000 miles since I had it welded and it's still holding up fine. It's a straight froward stainless steel weld.

    clunking sound

I am having something like you describe with one of my CARCs... I found the fitting on top of the CARC was loose - where the torsion bar (or as Guzzi calls it the 'reaction bar') connects to the top of the CARC. I could grab it and wiggle it around found the fitting in the CARC was loose. I...

    Leaking valve cover?

Gaskets are cheap enough - I'd just get one and replace it. While the cover if you can take a look and see if you can spot anything suspicious. If it leaks again then you may have a defect somewhere. It's a good idea to have a couple gaskets around anyway....

    Moto Guzzi 8V engine vibration

Dirt?.... I'd say it looks more like you've been riding through a milk barn!

I've not heard a map #2 for the G11 either....

    Rear Griso Tire

I saw 2500 on the original Rennsport... I am running Diablo Strata now.

    Griso/Breva drive shaft joints.

You can get to drive shaft by removing the CARC. Good question if they stay lubricated 'forever', I would say it's a looong time. There is no grease fitting on the joints . Here is what I saw when I had my CARC off the other day...

    Accident damage

You may be surprised by what leftover '07 Grisos are selling for... Back in January I was in the same predicament you are in. My bike was side-swiped by a truck and if it were 'totaled' would have been $9,300.00 US. You could then find new leftover bikes for that. In my case they didn't...

    Wiring question HELP

My guess in there is no current to the signals (or the battery would drain) - If your led light have a resistor to compensate for the current going to them it may be acting like a capacitor and discharging slowly through the LED (just a guess) - I would leave it overnight and see if there are...

Coincidence - I too discovered this same thing this afternoon... 17mm nut was loose.

    Replacement Tires and Brake Pads

    Bill Hagan's CARCass

My CARC story is less dramatic - My Griso's CARC sprang an oil seal leak and instead of taking my bike into the shop I talked them into letting me bring them just the CARC unit - and then bought a CARC from eBay knowing that having work done in July was going to take time (for labor and...

    Replacement Tires and Brake Pads

I am using Diablo Stratas and I will be thrilled to get 6000 miles out of them. I didn't get 2500 miles out of the original rear tire. I am still on my original brake pads but will likely go the EBC-HH route when I replace them.

    Griso cracked exhaust - weld?

I have a Termi installed and I like it - so I went with welding it up for now. I talked with my welder and he thought that maybe the metal is a bit brittle from the welds but also felt that once it finds a 'comfortable' position it may just hold, we'll see I guess. At least I'm up and running...

    Griso cracked exhaust - weld?

I've just noticed that my Griso has fallen to the cracked pipe syndrome. I found this crack just in front of the O2 sensor and it looks like an easy weld job. My question is to anyone that had welded theirs (I seem to remember a couple that had) - did it hold up well or has is cracked in a new...
