    Starting blues

Wait, only with the stock ECU map correct? If someone has your ECU reflash the lambda sensors should be unplugged.

    headlight/ tailight replacement bulb

I replaced the headlight bulb with a Sylvania Silvestar - H4 The tail light I replaced with a cylindrical 360 degree LED 1157 from Autozone. It is key that there are LEDs pointed sideways so it reflects off the reflector. I tried one with the LEDs only pointing back and it was not bright enough.

    Oil Breather Alternative

Apologies, it is a '14 Stone. I have removed the air filter a couple times to find oil pooled slightly in the air box.

    Oil Breather Alternative

I am curious if anyone has tackled rigging up an oil breather that has a return capability. I know that V7's have a habit of dumping oil into the airbox until it gets to it's "happy place". I would like to use something like a brake fluid reservoir or coolant reservoir to act as a catch and...

    V7 Miles Per Gallon

Some things to keep in mind when thinking through mileage, stock ECU or remapped. Remapped will typically drop mileage some. Are you using blended fuel like E10 or "pure gasoline"? Pure gasoline has more available energy than ethanol blended fuels so mileage is better with it. Are you in the...

Rear Wheel removal on a 2013 V7 Stone

When re-installing the rear wheel I know the rubber cushions can sometimes be a pain, but if one was dislodged would it stop the wheel from going on easily? I aligned the tines and started slowly then it popped right on the rest of the way. Am I being overly anxious?

    V7 Miles Per Gallon

'14 V7 with GT-Rx 2>1 and ECU Reflash. Spirited riding (with fair amount of time at 75mph): upper 30's. Boppin around, nothing crazy and limited time above 65mph: mid 40's.

    V7 shift pedal hitting exhaust

With the play in the shift lever, I needed to bend the lever a bit when I installed the GT-Rx 2>1 to avoid rubbing. In some ways it put my foot in a more comfortable position when shifting. I removed the lever, placed it in between two short chunks of 2"x4" and smacked with a hammer a few times.

    V7 C-S Suspension Thread

Spray some dry lube on the threads prior to adjustment, that will help. Also spraying some dry lube on the bottom of the spring where it meets the adjustment ring helps it slide and twist if need be.

    Look what I found...

Commuted to work for the first time and ended up parking in between two other V7's. First time I have seen one in the wild up here in Minneapolis. The V7 special owner was there when I pulled in and was very interested in the exhaust. Mentioned Guzzitech so hopefully some more action comes...

GTM V7 Mk I-III 2>1 SS Exhaust System

As another V7 owner who has thrown down on the 2>1 and ECU remap I thought I could offer another response. First in the interest of full disclosure, the V7 is my first bike. In stock form, the V7 was comfortable, but uninspiring. After the break in period I would rarely get the tach over 5k...

2013 V7 Stone - Dealer flashed new firmware

I have run into similar behavior after the GT-RX re flash, however I can start it up and ride off immediately without it stalling like before. It is a little strange but certainly less annoying than stalling when cold. Also the GT-RX re flash certainly makes the power more available and the...

    V7 Stone Levers

It may not have much of an impact for clip ons, but I put my stock bar end weights back on after I decided the cheapy's I got don't fit with the bike and having those hefty weights at the end make a big difference in vibration. I know you are trying to stay narrow but having bar end weights...

    V7 C-S Suspension Thread

I have the Race Tech shocks that Todd referenced and it is a VERY noticeable difference. For full transparency I am 210lbs geared up. They came from race tech pretty much set up although they were a little soft. The thing I notice the most is the rebound. Which barely exists with the stock...

What to do with the kickstand?

After installing the 2>1 I noticed an interesting side effect, the placement of the kickstand. Now the kickstand sticks out and just looks a little strange. Has anyone attempted to modify it or does the euro stand fit up tighter against the frame? Or should I just sit down and ride?

    A Tire Thread

I would stick with the stock sport demons. They may not get the best mileage but they really help with confidence and stick when you need them to. They warm up nicely. Another possible option are the Pirelli scorpion trail. A 95%/5% "dual sport" tire.

GTM V7 Mk I-III 2>1 SS Exhaust System

Linked is another audio example of the 2>1 exhaust. It is on a '14 V7 Stone. The audio starts near the right cylinder and then moves back behind the exhaust and up the left side then back over to the right side. Audio File

V7 Registry & Picture thread -- ADD YOUR BIKE

2014 V7, ZGULWUA09EM200129, purchased July of '14. Mods so far, GT-Rx 2>1 Exhaust, ECU reflash, Dart Flyscreen, Bar End mirrors. Soon to have Matris Fork Kit and Race Tech shocks. First motorcycle, 2500 miles on it so far. Apologies for the pic, it is not very nice outside. Perhaps I will...

    Removing Fuel Tank on V7

I may try that with the washers to refine the positioning of the tank. Thanks! I know it was off center when I got the bike but I couldn't remember just how much.

    Removing Fuel Tank on V7

I have run into somewhat of a strange thing that maybe I am being too nitpicky about. After reinstalling the fuel tank on the V7 I noticed much more space from the left cylinder to the tank than on the right side. I tried to make sure that when sliding the tank forward over the rubber knobs...
