Don't be an idiot like me! (For newbs adjusting valves)

Fixed it. Not bad at all. Finally, I got around to adjusting my valves. It's an easy procedure but takes a steady hand. I would get the space just perfect, and as I would tighten the nut, the adjusting screw would move slightly, and they would be too tight. The left cylinder (the one I had to...

Don't be an idiot like me! (For newbs adjusting valves)

Another question. When I take the rocker arms off, will the valve springs fly across the room?

Don't be an idiot like me! (For newbs adjusting valves)

I think I'm following. Here was my game plan: 1. Take of the rocker arms. 2. Unscrew the valve guide. 3. Screw the new valve guide in making sure it is as close to where the other one was. Not that bad, right? I'm very apprehensive about repairing it myself since I screwed up a simple valve...

Shoot me, I can't get the tank completely on.

I didn't have a problem mounting the tank back on. Although I had to give the back of the tank a little push as I was tightening it down. I think it helps that I run ethanol free gas in it. I just can't get slack in that larger hose. The smaller hose for the bleeder was a piece of cake because...

Looking to buy stock V7 seat

Are you still looking for the stock seat? I got the seat for vertically challenged people and mine has been in the closet since.

You are exactly right. I can't rely on German spec anymore.

Shoot me, I can't get the tank completely on.

I tried to take pictures for this, but it is too tight and dark under the tank. It mounted on nicely. The fuel pipe clicked in. The bleeding pipe closer to front of the tank slid on, but I cannot get the larger bleeding pipe on. It is the one closer to the seat and not shown in the service...

Don't be an idiot like me! (For newbs adjusting valves)

'][/URL] So on my first bike, you held the top of the bolt and adjusted the nut. I was holding the bolt and turning the nut. Whoops. I didn't even know I was that strong. Now I will have to remove the rocker arms. And now I know the difference between a lock nut and adjusting bolt.

Can you help me identify these aftermarket slip-ons?

Just an update. I bought the OEM used exhaust. They were in good shape minus and scrape down the side (cosmetic) and the left side was missing the shoe to mount it to the bike. After waiting 12 weeks on back order from Italy, it finally arrived and I cinched it down and took it for a spin in 35...

Can you help me identify these aftermarket slip-ons?

I bought a 2011 V7 Classic because it was the color I wanted, 3,000 miles on the odometer, and it was the right price. It came with loud after market slip on exhaust which I believe are making run lean. The downtubes are blue. I've ordered a pair of OEM slip-ons from Ebay and I took the...
