I thought that might be the case so I also turned a set on my lathe out of a bar of HDPE I had left over from another project. That suff machines really nicely. Thanks again, Steve

Sorry to have to keep asking about this, but are you saying there are actually two different sleeves, one with a 35mm ID and another with a 37mm ID but both with a 40mm OD? If that is the case, where can I get the ones with the 37mm ID, since all I see are the 35mm ID. Thanks again.

Well, another question: I gave the manifolds to my buddy and he says he now needs the insulator sleeves between the manifolds and carbs. All I can find are listed some places as only fitting the VHB29 carbs another place they are listed as fitting 27-30 carbs.? The carbs he has are VHB30s and...

Thanks Gyrorex, I would like to get them from you, "just in case I need them ". If you want to email me at fossilrider@epbfi.com, we can figure out the shipping, payment etc.. Steve

    carbs needed

Thanks guys. I found a set of manifolds on ebay and got them today. Hopefully they are correct for his carbs. One additional question is concerning the manifold gaskets and phenolic spacers. The gaskets I got are really thick, maybe 1/8" or more, and I looked at my T3 and found that it doesn't...

    carbs needed

Thanks, Charlie. That is the info we needed. So, to be sure I understand, the bolt pattern for the manifolds for these early carbs is the same as the bolt pattern for the T/T3. So we just need the stock manifolds and carbs for the T/T3? He just wants the bike for a rider and "correctness"...

    carbs needed

Hey guys, Steve here. I have a friend who is needing a carb/set of carbs for a '60s V7 Ambassador he picked up. All of the Guzzis I have owned have been later models, T3,etc. so I really am not familiar with what he is telling me came with this bike. The numbers on the carbs (one of which is not...

    Guzzi identification

Once again, thanks for the input. I believe the general thought here, that this must be a '67 V7, is correct. But, after looking at tons of photos, I am still confused that a '67 year model would have "Ambassador" on the side covers (which seem to be original to this bike) when the Ambassador...

    Guzzi identification

Hey Guys, Steve here. My friend just bought an old Guzzi that I had found and he is starting to get it up and going. In order to get it titled, he needs to identify exactly what it is, since it came without a title. The frame # is 1317 and the motor # is 1427. The decals on the side covers say...

    Finally ridden

As the saying goes, "fact is stranger than fiction". I spent a little time at my shop yesterday and, while there working on something else, I decided to fire the T3 up and warm it up and try to see if I could hear/see anything else that could be causing the revving problem. Once warmed up, I...

Yeah, I realize that but I am pretty sure the springs in these carbs are ones I bought from MG cycles and was told they were the lightest they would recommend for these carbs. I say I'm pretty sure because, as I too often do, I worked on this bike when I first got it a year and a half ago then...

    Finally ridden

Well, the search goes on, though I have made some progress. I switched the coils, but the popping still comes from the left, but in the process I did find quite a bit of corrosion in the end of the left plug wire where it slides onto the spike in the coil. Cut the end off a bit and found good...

    Finally ridden

Thanks for the reply, John. However, there at least a couple reasons I haven't really considered that. First, without loading the bike and hauling it God knows where, that isn't an option. Since I have been informed, by some guys in dealerships around here, that I am "one percent of the one...

    Finally ridden

Greetings folks, Steve/Fossil here again. I think last time I was here it was while I was looking for info on upgrades for my Griso. The time before, needing help bleeding the brakes on one of my T3s (if my memory serves me?) Anyway, I'm back, finally, on the newest-to-me T3. I bought it 1 1/2...

    T3 fork upgrade

Hi guys, Steve here. I have been seeing cafe customs built from T3s and other Tonti framed Guzzis with late model USD (upside down) forks but usually don't find where they tell what bike the late model front-ends come from. There are enough of these swaps done that I figured I could find some...

    T3 brake bleed

Thanks Guys. Yes, The deep well socket is what I have used as well but the last time I must have used a size that didn't fit as good and it tore the final rubber seal. Guess I should have been a little more careful! John, the "cup" I was referring to is the little metal cup that goes in with the...

    T3 brake bleed

Worked on it a little more today. Put Teflon tape on bleeder threads and it made no difference. The proportioning valve doesn't have a bleeder. When I pulled the vacuum on the rear and front bleeders and cracked them open, the gauge on the vac pump didn't even move. It's like the whole system is...

    T3 brake bleed

Thanks John. Hadn't thought about a bleeder there. And I read about the tape in the manual for the vac pump, but haven't done it. I think I'm getting full movement at the pedal/ master but will double check that too. I've just never had this problem.? Regards, Steve

    T3 brake bleed

This topic has probably been covered before(maybe many times). I have rebuilt the master cylinders (both front and rear) on several Guzzis I have had over the years and have never had this problem before. I cannot get the two calipers that are operated by the rear master to bleed. Both calipers...
