    Modern "No Start" issue solution

Re: Modern "No Crank" Starting issue solution Well....I replaced the yellow wire (supply) on the 1200 Sport today. Had to make a removal tool for the connector, a .20 feeler guage ground to fit worked fine. I'm hoping this works out but must admit the orange (or red) and yellow wire going to...

    Modern "No Start" issue solution

Re: Modern "No Crank" Starting issue solution I'm ready to do this as I'm tired of it not starting when it feels like it, even after a 10 mile ride on an 75 degree day after 15 minutes sitting. My only question is that looking at the wiring diagram I pulled off line for the 1200 Sport it shows...

Help, 1200 Sport won't start when hot

I swapped the relays as suggested previously and also left the cover off the starter hoping to troubleshoot if it quit while I was riding. We took a long ride yesterday and did not have a problem for the first time this year, of course the weather was not quite so hot either. I will be taking a...

Help, 1200 Sport won't start when hot

I would sure like to know which wire was the problem. I measured voltage on the lug from the starter, could not see any other ones excepting the ground below the lug. Not exactly a great place to try checking and when the bike is starting.....

Help, 1200 Sport won't start when hot

Battery voltage is holding at 12.2 with key on and 13.6 when running, voltage at solenoid is the same, I don't hear any relay click but my ears are not what they used to be and I'm generally wearing helmet and earplugs when I have the probelm. I think your idea is great, I'll try switching the...

Help, 1200 Sport won't start when hot

Thanks for the suggestions, I tried those things the first time I had the problem without any luck, no immobiliser or alarm.

Help, 1200 Sport won't start when hot

I'm having problems with the 08 1200 Sport. If I take a long ride, then stop for a break, the bike won't turn over. If I catch it in gear it seems to start just fine for the rest of the day. Never have a problem close to home so I can get a ride then pick it up and do some troubleshooting...

    Mystery Breva Oil leak!?

I just changed the oil in my 1200 sport and got the same leak. I got a Bosch D3330 at Advance and will give it a try.

    Swingarm Stand Help

Maybe the simplest way is to get a centerstand.

GuzziTech Penske Rear Shock - now a dealer

Re: Penske Rear Shock - GuzziTech is now a dealer! I've used Penske for a long time and love them. I currently have an 8987 for a Suzuki DL1000 I sold a while back, any chance of modifying it to fit?

GuzziTech: A few thoughts & frustrations...

Todd, I'm pretty new to the Guzzi world, your forum is primo from my viewpoint and being new to Guzzi I also like to be able to find product. It is easy find stuff for the BMW but HARD to find Guzzi stuff. I'm glad you are here, thanks.

Another newbie with a (BLACK) 1200 Sport

Don't use the parts manual for guidance on the centerstand installation, right side is changed using a couple less parts. I like the penny trick, I struggled with a pair of pliers. I also substituted a couple of longer bolts with a locknut on the back to resist anything coming loose. I also had...

    centerstand experience on 1200 Sport

I know it has been discussed previously but I would like to give my feedback. My wife and I went for our first ride with the centerstand and a new set of Pilot Road 2's. I'm not a youngster and don't fancy myself as a fast guy so I was pretty shocked when the stand met the pavement. Luckily I...

    Exhaust System - Muffler

Looks pretty nice to me but think I'll wait for the PC5 and do a mass swap.

    The short from hell

When we were leaving for the MotoGP in Indianapolis last week I noticed the headlight was not working, checked the fuse, blown, tried another, blew instantly. Dee says, put everything in the car, no way that was going to happen. I figured we had enough time to get out there in 2 days using...

Just waiting for my bike to be fixed...

The problem is not unique to Moto Guzzi, my R1200R has the same problem, dealer said nothing is wrong. Our 99 Triumph Sprint warped it's rotors but the dealer replaced them without hesitation. I would just like to get something that will last even if I have to pay a bit extra. I ride 2up in a...

    Dunlop Roadsmart Mileage and impressions

I'm still on the original Metzeler M3 on the 1200 Sport, but did have Z6's on the R1200R which I got 6500 miles on before replacing them with Dunlop Roadsmarts. The Roadsmarts have 4700 miles on them and the wear bars are showing so they will have to go soon. I even tried to treat them nice for...

    ECU Swap/PC-V Update --PLEASE READ--

I would probably be interested in this, but not right now, bike is too new and I'm not at the modification point just yet (ok, bars, pegs, bags, backrest) but I'm really glad to see someone is willing to take an issue like this on and think the price is fair all things considered.

    VA Guzzi Riders?

Hi, I'm new to the forum and to Moto Guzzi. We just got a 1200 Sport in Richmond and are looking forward to meeting some of the people in the area. We are located outside of Dillwyn, yes I know, unheard of, 60 miles west of Richmond, 40 miles east of Synchburg.
