I'm with you on this thread. I thought it was just me. Yes they are defo heavier that most but I take on board comments about keeping the lower gears and letting the engine sing, especially in traffic. Thanks for that tip !
Not sure if there is a fix though but adjustable levers sound like a...
I'm liking the new design. Somehow with the new engine and bodypart mods it looks more... retro? Maybe it's the beer.
Exhaust headers look a fair bit thicker than the previous V7's too which would be interesting.
Overall a +1 from me! :)
I just re-read the first post. Storm Grate? Rubber and steel don't mix. Tyre choice won't make a difference. Riding style will. Bigger tyres will not help and larger numbers don't necessarily mean larger contact footprint. In fact the opposite is quite possible.
Try rolling a rubber ball...
やあ、どうもありがとうございました。私は、日本人の妻を持って、私たちが乗って大好きです。私は日本のGUZZIからより多くを読みたいです。大好きです。
In English... just saying how much I enjoyed the clip and to hear about Guzzisti in Japan.. the home of quality and attention to detail :)
No idea what you guys are talking about regarding noise locations... my industrial hearing loss kicked in a long time ago. Actually I reckon a good amount of that was riding without earplugs and nightclubs back in the day but I digress... Super cool bike mate, I haven't seen similar before...
Great thread guys.
I know I can buy a Japanese or British bike with arguably less "issues" but that feeling when you are on the bike and have this ... connection... it's hard to describe.
That's why I love Guzzis and Dukes. Period.
I'd still like to have a word with the useless b..stard...
Nice, I have a personal preference for Carbon pipes (sound/looks just seem better than steel variants) however it's not so easy to make a conical shape with the carbon weave.
Would love to see some reverse cones fabricated from Carbon with stainless ends and maintaining the same size as...
Thanks guys. I wasn't clear in my original post. Yes, I'll definitely use a paint shop. Around $300 was quoted for a respray which is pretty reasonable I guess. I was mainly curious if anyone had tried a different application such as powder coating. I will do some googling and see if I can find...
I am considering repainting a black stone tank to a nice gloss red (just personal preference). Can anyone offer advice as to the best way to achieve a long lasting, robust finish?
I know there are such a variety of paints systems and methods, perhaps even powder coating.
Any recommendations...
I don't even know what WG forum is ( and seriously i don't care so please nobody explain)... Still chuckling at this thread though. I get the jist of it :-))
FYI i took a brand new (50kms) V7ii stone for a test ride yesterday and experienced the clunk when going from neutral to first and pulling away. Almost like the clunk of gears or transmission engaging. I dont remember this on the 5 speed bike.
Furthermore the clutch on the test bike was very...
ABS is the greatest invention in motoring in the last couple of decades in my view. It is that good !
Traction control will stop you from spinning up the rear on a loose surface. Power delivery is not hugely impressive on the V7 but still enough to break traction if you are over enthusiastic...
I like the idea Todd. If I had a choice of V7 or a 900 version on the shop floor, I'd probably take the 900.
I'm still quietly hoping Guzzi will reintroduce the V11 Sport, or maybe a 900 version of the 750.
Either way the V11 sports or V7 stones/specials are for me the best looking...
I had a V7 and i'm looking forward to buy the V7ii after a brief spell with a different bike.
Personally I think the improvements are enough to buy the new model but not worth changing the 5 speed version for.
Sure, there are good deals on the old 5 speeds but also in Oz there are good deals...
Good thread. I'm having the same thoughts. $500 US on front springs plus similar spend on the rear is probably much better value than $1500 for a slip on muffler (although loud pipes on an Italian bike are mandatory).
Thanks pokeyjoe. I had mine custom made for the V7-i so never finally came to a conclusion over the whole v7 classic/special/stone/racer exhaust compatibility. Now that there is a V7-ii I'm back at square one. I'm sure I'm in the right place to ask though. Cheers!
