People just keep on surprising, and thanks Harvey

I was riding the Stelvio home last week and snow was threatened by late evening, so I avoided the main highways, as a tumble on a backroad is a better proposition than a crazy main road, whereupon the snow became so deep that after a scary downhill right, I just couldn't risk it to carry on, so...

    Wheels

I have been looking for a pair of cast wheels for the Griso as the rear in particular has started to lose too much (3-4 psi) per day, and managed to find a pair in Calgary in great shape for $459 Canadian from a breakers in Calgary, who by the way has a lot of Norge spares including an entire...

    New Guzzitech headers

Thanks, Todd, for the headers that I finally got round to putting on, together with the already existing mid pipe that you made and the Arrow slip on. Just the weight alone is worth it and finally no leaking or the resultant popping, and no gaskets required. The bike runs great, and I've held...

Cleaning the stepper valve and finding a kink in the fuel line

I removed a lot of crap to clean the stepper valve and thought I might as well remove it once I was in the guts and found a bad kink in the fuel line, but I do have a spare thankfully

    Great sensations

I sat down with the Stelvio as it has been a bit unused and had battery issues that I assumed were ground problems in that it would weirdly discharge, but thanks to two people, issues are solved. The first people are the staff at Edmonds battery and starters in Abbotsford who warrantied a new...

    Thanks to Todd

It's always a lovely day when a parcel arrives, unless it says Revenue Canada, but to get one from GTM is especially nice. Opening the package showed me a beautiful pair of handmade SS header pipes for the Griso, along with the flash tool and the airbox ring. Once the weather gets better and a...

    Taking the plunge again

A little bit of extra cash is allowing me to buy the Guzzi Tech headers and the Reflash tool for my Griso to go with the Guzzi Tech mid pipe that Todd already made for me. I'm looking forward to being able to get a good map off Todd for the GT headers, mid pipe and Arrow exhaust. Looking forward...

Anyone know who this guy is with his young passenger?

    New Bike Quiz

I just made a deal for a new old bike. When I was three in 1958, my father would come home from the shipyards on the Tyne River on his bike and if I were lucky, my mother would take me to the top of the alley and we could see my Dad on the corner, I would run down and holding me onto the...

Chucking it down here in BC

So, what to do on a day like today now that I finally have a shed that can hold three bikes at one time? Why it's time to remove the Griso front wheel ready to insert a rim tape and tube, and then decide to remove both discs so I can use a Scotchbrite pad to remove all the superficial corrosion...

    Finally running well

As the title says, with cleaned injectors, new spark plug wires and caps as well as Todds beautiful mid pipe, I went for a run up a local mountain trail/fire road. Must remember to lower tyre pressures as well as change suspension settings, but genuine fun and (as they say in my hometown of...

    Griso swing arm disassembly

It can be done with a Mastercraft jack under the sump once the rear wheel and bevel box are removed as the front wheel sinks to the floor with a couple of straps to the side. It looked intimidating as I mulled it over but once both of the side plates were removed, the swing arm came off to...

    The joy of Stelvio

It has been a long road and for me, the darkest of shade tree mechanics. It seemed endless at times with the following things needing a good fettling... Steering and swing arm bearings, wheel bearings, new plugs, leads and caps, fantastic non leaking mid pipe (thank you so much Todd), new tail...

    Would you buy it?

A 1972 Military Nuovo Falcone Militaire Ad reads...." True mileage is unknown, odometer reads 25000, but likely higher than that. New wheels and spokes, wheel bearings, new tires, new battery, new switch gear, new steering head taper rollers, rocker oil delivery improvement, buffalo fairing...

    Stelvio starters

This is the pieces of 3 starters after a used one on Ebay turned out to be so corroded inside, but it came with a solenoid that had failed on the original starter after 60000kms. After everything went together it finally turned over the bike and worked. I love Moto Guzzis for the way they allow...

    Guzzitech mid pipe for Stelvio

In getting the Stelvio back on the road, I simply got tired of the stock mid pipe that would never line up properly and required expensive gaskets to fit and would always leak. I asked Todd if he could make one and it came today. What a difference. The fit is excellent and the quality of the...

    Front fender repair

My limited skillset has me showing anything that I can do without totally making it worse, so here is a Stelvio front fender after the bottom left edge got cracked by cackhandedness. Glued, sanded, painted and then some flag decal strip off ebay.

    Sometimes its sunny, and sometimes...

It was nice when I set off, but the further west I rode it got a little worse. However, Sidi boots, Scott suit and Held gloves live up to their reputation as protectors of the wet and I just have more confidence in Michelins when the temp drops to 1-2C.

    Stuff that happens out there

As well as having a couple of Guzzis (Stelvio and a Griso), I have a Kawasaki ZX1000 Ninja and a question about tyre wear elicited this answer by a forum member " I have 6500 miles on the pp5's and they are just about to square a bit. I will take the hand plane and put the bike up on the rear...

    Todds crossover pipe

I finally sprung for Todds crossover/collector for the Griso and it is well worth it. Simple to fit, although a little loosening and jiggling was required, but a lovely finish and the bike now has no spitting/popping. Thank you so much Todd
