    Ignition keys and codes

SUCCESS!! Thanks to all who offered assistance/guidance, and especially to kiwi Dave for the step-by-step procedure, which I had not been able to find anywhere. It may have been elsewhere on the forum, but I guess I didn't dig deep enough. One would think those steps would be in the manual...

    Ignition keys and codes

I'm baaaack... From another suggestion in the forum's many entries on this problem, I entered the last five digits of my VIN and PRESTO! I was no longer prompted to "Remember to enter your code". My original key was used during this procedure. I put the new key with chip attached in the...

    Ignition keys and codes

So far, I have been able to change the code but am still having problems resetting the new keys I had cut. I have found the manual's directions to be somewhat lacking in completeness. Either that I or I'm just slow on the uptake. Continuing to try and work through the problem.

    Ignition keys and codes

Thanks! So, I can enter any 5 digit code? AF1 sent me a sheet with various codes for various Moto Guzzis. Didn't know if these were codes their shop uses for consistency or what. So when the message pops up, it stays for a few seconds. Do I have to switch to Mode to enter or just use the...

    Ignition keys and codes

2007 Griso. My used Griso came with only one ignition key. Whenever I turn the Ingnition on, the dash shows the message, "Remember to insert your code" which I don't have nor did the seller know. The key I received was the one with the computer chip, but the chip was missing. The bike starts...

    Booster Plug....?

Saw a reference about a Booster Plug which was installed on a Griso. The YouTube video showed the bike running at idle and being revved. Owner said the plug made a big difference in smoothness, etc. Does anyone know what he's talking about?

    Griso oil filter change question

Thanks for everyone's input. I ended up finding a wrench at Harbor Freight like the one mentioned by not-fishing. Worked like a charm.

    Griso oil filter change question

My dealership did my first oil and filter change along with other service on my used 2007 Griso. Was in the process of changing my oil and filter today. The guy I bought the bike from gave me three new HIFLOFILTRO HF 551 filters for which I have the appropriate cup-style filter wrench...

    Clutch lever swap question....help

Further adventures in the life of the mechanically challenged. I'm in the process of swapping the stock clutch and brake levers on my '07 Griso 1100 with a handsome pair of black levers purchased through GT and need some help. I need to remove the metal "nipple" from the stock clutch lever...

At Wits End with Starting Problems!

Wow! Again thanks for the helpful info. Ironically or fortuitously, I ran into a guy yesterday at a restaurant while out for a 200 mile ride. He owns something like 30 Guzzis! As we chatted I mentioned the problem. He goes to his car and retrieves a new volt/amp tester and checks out the...

At Wits End with Starting Problems!

BTW, the alarm light flashes when the bike is off, but I didn't think the alarm was actually activated. Any idea on how to turn it off or disconnect it?

At Wits End with Starting Problems!

Thanks. Voltage at battery when bike is running is 14.2 according to the bike's display. I'll check it with a meter as I've been told not to trust the display. I'm generally confounded by electrical problems but will see what I can come up with.
