Hole in Air box on the Engine side of Airbox. Check yours

The hole is a mold or casting defect, Not symmetrical. And the weird thing it isn't on all Stelvio's . I was thinking the air box comes from a out side supplier , they should have caught that on assembly. Still waiting to hear back from Piaggio!!

Hole in Air box on the Engine side of Airbox. Check yours

I should have described it better. the Hole is on the Motor side of the Filter. So un filtered air and dirt was going through the throttle bodies and into the motor.

Hole in Air box on the Engine side of Airbox. Check yours

I have been dealing with a Random missfire on my 2016 Stelvio NTX for over a year. It started at around 12000km and went un-diagnose until 27000km. Poor idle, surging and hunting . I finally left it at the dealership with instruction that I didn't want it back until it was 100%. They thought...

    Stelvio discontinued

I own a 2016 and follow these bikes closely. To my knowledge there is no difference 2012. More attention to the details in Assembly and a more current ECU mapping would make the newer Stelvios feel and ride like a different bike.

    Stelvio discontinued

So just Back from my dealer. They Have one new Stelvio NTX instock. It is identical to my 2016 in every way but with a 2017 VIN. So I asked the salesman if the Capinord Rally was its replacment from Piagio. He said the Capinord is actually being dropped from the lineup as well. He hinted there...

I like it. and would be interested in getting one.

    Fork Seal failure

I have had good results with the seal mate in the past and I have the seal mate in my tool kit on the bike. Sadly I never thought to use it. I have since made some guards that protect the exposed fork area. Normally its bug guts and road crap that take out the seals so hopefully these will help.

Weight testing: 2012 Guzzi Stelvio NTX vs. 2012 BMW R1200GSA

This was my theory from the first day I started researching my Bike purchase in 2015. Thanks for doing the work to prove what most of use suspected.

    Stelvio discontinued

My dealer tells me the 2017s are left over 2016s they didn't or couldn't sell in the Europe. They have a 2017 VIN plate.

    Fork Seal failure

Got my right fork back from the dealer. Installed and went for a ride. Jan 29th +11c. Nice to be out on the Stelvio. Took my CB900F Super Sport project bike and my sons F650 for a rip as well,,, Just for good measure.

    Looking at Purchasing a 1980 1000 SP

I have been eyeing a Local 1000 SP. Lower Km looks to be in decent shape. What kinda money are they worth. What should I be look for issue wise?

    Stelvio discontinued

Sounds about right. I run Mitas E07 tires thinking I would do more Off road and Gravel roads, but still only occasionally venture off the Pavement. I hope to do more back country gravel roads this coming season . But as we all know, most adventure bikes hardly venture off road.

    Stelvio Canister Quick Disconnect

Very Good point Scott. I just did my delete but removed the whole system. I used the existing hoses ( once removed)and tied the Throttle bodies together and ran the vent tube down to the same location as stock for that very reason.

    Stelvio discontinued

I would wait for the the new Stelvio if there is gonna be one.

    Fork Seal failure

See what happens when I post without wearing my glasses.. Yes spring Retainer. It looks like the top picture but the spring is missing. But that is exactly what the Stelvio in the show room had. The same dust cap missing the springs.Makes no sense to me.

    Stelvio discontinued

Talked to my MG Salesman today and since he just came back from the Moto Guzzi Factory I asked him what the 2017 Stelvios looked like( fishing ) he pointed at the 2016 and said there it is. He confirmed there is no 2017 Stelvio or Norge and I think maybe the Grizo. He said they bought up all...

So went into my local MG Dealer and talked to the Service mgr, He has been great to deal with in the past. Told him my story and showed him Pictures of the 2 different seals on my Bike. Left seal that they replaced ( the one with the Spring retainer) and the Right one with no spring. He says...
