2014 Touring Two Different Shades of White?

The website touchupdirect.com sells auto and motorcycle touch up paints. They list MG models with color names. For the 2014 Touring they say it’s Eldorado White Pearl Tricoat. There’s also a black called “Guzzi Black” I’m not saying they’re accurate, just posting the website info. There’s also...

    V7II 750 Special or V9 850 Roamer

IMO A test ride is a must even if its a trip. I don't think the difference between a 750 and 850 will matter. Buy the one that you're most comfortable riding position wise. If you're good with either, buy the newest year. Other than a very short time years ago, I'm also new to Guzzi right now...

Say it ain’t so, possible 457 Parallel Twin Guzzi?

It's like Specialty said. Triumph is doing an entry level bike with an engine that's not similar to what they're known for. That certainly doesn't mean they're abandoning what they're known for, they're just taking advantage of the Indian manufacturing process to be able to offer riders an entry...

    Luckiest new member in awhile?

If I may answer with my experience. The bike I won from BMW had a value of IIRC, $18,300. I got a 1099. The federal tax hit was $4,000..

    Luckiest new member in awhile?

Congratulations and many safe riding miles both solo and with your son! A free new bike is the best feeling, isn’t it? Well, almost free (There's gonna be tax hit.) (I won a BMW in one of their raffles about 10 years ago)

Then they can scan the bikes paint and match.

2014 Touring Two Different Shades of White?

Any automotive paint shop can look up any manufacturers paint colors. My father ran an auto machine shop that was part of a giant auto parts store. I worked there in my teen years. They also had a DuPont paint shop. If the paint shop guy is experienced, they’ll never miss a match. Just tell them...

2014 Touring Two Different Shades of White?

Could there be a factory coating of some kind that was applied to the top of the tank to fight any stains from spilled gas?

    Getting seriously excited!

To me, his age isn't the surprise. It's all the documented "no other damage" he signed. So he's not just an 80 yr old crook, he's a dumbass 80 yr old crook. Fantastic idea that you had him sign and notarize those statements.

Potential new Cali owner - help needed

Same here. I thought it would look a lot worse. I too would just do what you feel needs to be done and not make it perfect and ride and enjoy a great bargain.

Importing new Guzzi's to the USA from Europe??

Our states are all different. I assisted a friend with my truck and trailer in importing from Canada a Euro spec BMW motorcycle. It was a months long nightmare. I do not recommend it. All the proof is on you the owner. There’s literally 14 compliance stickers that the USA requires be on the bike...

Potential new Cali owner - help needed

I’d be kinda concerned that the insurance totaled it. Why would they do that for just the cosmetic damage that you mention and all mechanicals are good? Maybe the damage and the mileage combined told them it was a write-off? You probably already thought of this, but Since it’s an insurance...

End of ‘23 grievance, to a better ‘24

Manufacturers don’t want us doing any work on our bikes. Cuts into their bottom line. Supplying Tool kits with a new motorcycle are now over. The first 30 pages of an owners manual now is just a list and photos of everything on a motorcycle that can harm or kill you.

Advice please on a Breva 750

If you’re saying I should do a search, I did try several searches before I asked. I couldn’t find my question answered. The search return also explains that it doesn’t include the word “oil” in the search because it’s too short. Same with “750”. I don’t know how someone is supposed to get an...

If you have done any work or added any accessories, whether lights or not, check everything and everywhere you worked on the bike.

importing a motorcycle Europe -> Canada

Europe to Canada should be OK because, at least a couple years ago, Canada imports and sells Euro spec bikes. Canada to USA (unless 25 years old or more) is a nightmare and a half. Not recommended. I have a long story about that.

Advice please on a Breva 750

OK. All the labs say to use the proper weight oil as Recommended by the manufacturer. I get that. That's what I’m trying to do. That’s why I asked why does the 2003 Breva owner‘s manual say to use a 5W-40 and a 2006 Breva manual says to use a 10w-60 oil? The difference seems like it would...

Advice please on a Breva 750

I ain’t riding if it’s below 40 so no issue there. According to that chart I can use just about any weight. Doesn’t seem right but weight probably matters less with a synthetic.
