I just got off phone with pcracing FLO oil filter --- We are not 100% sure they have one that will fit the cali 1400 - but I bought one and it's on it's way. (the issue: not 100% it's correct thread pattern; but the diameter is good and the height is only 1 inch longer)
I seem to recall there...
after i ride the raider I can't really say cali 1400 is a cruiser - more like a sport/touring bike. but I just love bouncing back and forth between the two. are you keeping both your guzzi and raider?
have you gone to 240 rear tire yet -- if not rocky mountain has pirelli night dragons for $150 ish - and a 40 buck rebate if you get a set - front/back tires - just an fyi
has anyone experimented with 180s instead of the 200 rear tire on the 1400?
anyone want to speculate about how it would impact handling -- a 180/65-16 would leave the speedo within 1-2 percent of factory size 200 tire
specifically, would it make 1400 more nimble? impact stability, gas mileage?
thanks dave / Kdirtrider -- just remembered there a filter called the
FLO Reusable Spin On Oil Filter from PC Racing - I have it on my yamaha raider -- has a nut on top to make it easy to wrench off --- but i don't see it specifically for cali 1400
Forgot to mention, the shifting on my Yama Raider is good, the Guzzi is Sweeeet (like butter) and the Indian, forget about it. not just clunky but horrible. But .. even worse was the Ducati Diaval -- false neutrals all over the place -- scary bad. Just as an aside, they say the diaval engine...
No argument here - I totally agree. I also test road an Indian and was def underwhelmed. Frankly my Yamaha raider surpassed the Indian on many levels for about 1/2 the cost. And the California 1400 beats both hands down. BUT ... I was just refereeing to the looks of the new guzzi bagger --...
Indian has a 'Dark Horse' version that seems to succeed with this overall stylistic theme -- that would be the bike I'd pick over this guzzi monstrosity.
When I first start the bike - the dash lights come on, but after about 10 seconds they go off. Then riding down the road at night the dash / instrument panel is totally dark / useless. Everything else seems to be fine. Is there a menu setting I need to change? Thanks in advance
