It is very nice, i find i like it even more with each ride (weather not brilliant at the moment here, so having to pick the days). They smoothed out some of the Guzziness but not entirely. I think it has the best spread of torque of any bike I have ridden and there have been quite a few. Burble...
There are 70 shims listed from 1.77 up to 3.50 at .02 -.03 increments I am assuming mm . it will be interesting to see what tolerance they specify for the gap.
it has a similar oil filter arrangement as the small blocks, Cover and an open filter
I will be entrusting the servicing to a local dealer, I have an older small block should I wish to get my hands dirty
I have just looked the part no up for one of the shims on the off chance it was an existing Aprillia part but nothing was returned so looks to be specific.
I have not had the rocker covers off yet but looking at the parts diagrams it would suggest the cams are on top of the finger follower so...
The maintenance schedule calls for valve checks at every 15,000 miles (24,000 km) (oil service every 7500 miles, 12000km)
And it is very different from an 850 motor as it is overhead cams with finger followers and shims
An another loose bolt or rather several the alternator cover is held on by many screws which on my V85TT where pretty much all loose, not falling out loose but certainly not nipped up.

I performed the lube as suggested, 6 months latter I started getting a creaking sound coming from the rear suspension. I removed the rear shock absorber and found that one of the bushes, which are designed to rotate spherically (all directions) was seized. I found that I had had quite a lot of...
After living with it a while I decided it did not quite look right from certain angles. it is only 4 bolts and 2 plastic clips so I put it back.
Even with the beak, the Caponord mudguard and a fenda extenda it was no match for the Brecon Beacons at the weekend, the Guzzi was plastered everywhere...
I also purchased a Caponord mudguard (2B001431) from MSP and mine has arrived. Looks like it was meant to be there.over chritmas I may see what it looks like with out the high mudguard.
