    V7 Special battery cover

Thanks. Perfect. Just the help I needed. Much appreciated. p.s. Is there a good shop manual that is available for our bikes.

    V7 Special battery cover

I recently bought a 2013 V7 and I also just bought a battery tender. I want to take the battery off the bike and put it on the tender for the Winter. The manual that comes with the bike mentions one bolt and a hook. I looked at the bolt and it didn't look like a torx or hex. What is it? Also...

    V7 Seat (stock)

I didn't realize the Stone seat was different from the Special. I have seen the seats with straps but didn't make the model connection. I actually like the looks of the seat with the strap. It's similar to the Bonneville seat.

    V7 Seat (stock)

Thanks for the suggestion. I have seen some on ebay but the seats have an additional seam and dont have the Guzzi lettering in the back of the seat which made me wonder if they really were original stock seats.

    V7 Seat (stock)

I just bought a 2013 v7 Special and although I have no other bikes to compare it with I can agree with the people that write in to say they are grinning all the time they are riding. Love the bike. I only have about 100 miles on it so far but it came with a custom seat that I don't care for. I...

    Bringing the baby home

And would I be correct in assuming any program change,( ie.map changes, flash)would be done by a dealer and mechanic only? Not a program an owner can get and download to the bike computer?

    Bringing the baby home

Thanks for the advice about the Pit Bull rear stand. It looks like a well built tool. My question is if it is better to invest in the pit bull stand or a permanently installed center stand. Both are about the same price.

    Bringing the baby home

Thanks for all the suggestions about the oil The original owner (whom I bought the bike from) put the sump extension on so I think that should help. I believe the bike has to be vertical when I check the oil. I don't have a center stand so how does one keep the bike upright and unscrew and check...

    Bringing the baby home

I finally bought a 2013 v7 special and didn't go with the 2016 with ABS. I'll learn to ride on a bike that is 4k less expensive. You mentioned Todd's flash. I have read a few threads talking about this but I really don't know what it is. I suspect it has something to do with the bike's computer...

    Bringing the baby home

And as far as tools go? I have just about every tool known to man but are there some specialized tools I should get to work on the v7? What tools do you try to keep with you when you ride?

    Bringing the baby home

Diaper didn't work but I'm glad you mentioned center stands because I was thinking of getting one. Is one better than another, is it difficult to put on myself, do some not fit or work with the stock stand?

    Bringing the baby home

when my son was born I was 23 and I clearly remember the day my wife and I brought him home from the hospital. We had no clue how to take care of a baby. Luckily, my mother lived nearby and provided the much needed instructions; like how to fold a diaper. So, last week I bought a 2013 v7...

2016 v7 ABS - is it worth it?

The dealer told me the used 2014 was completely stock but the rear light and directionals look different to me. Does anyone recognize this and if it was a stock option.

2016 v7 ABS - is it worth it?

Well, having left the sensible, bullet proof Triumph in the dust I have negotiated with half a dozen MG dealers and private owners and it come down to this - New 2016 for $8790 + $625 = $9405 Used 2014 for $5600 (2000 miles) + $392 = $5992 I started out wanting to spend no more than $3800...

2016 v7 ABS - is it worth it?

Ok, ok. I need new fingers for typing. That is supposed to be a 2010 Triumph. See, 0 is very close to 9. Thanks for the excellent suggestionon the Triumph. Now would you like some stock options for 2019?

2016 v7 ABS - is it worth it?

    Thanks everyone. So here is the breakdown of available bikes: All are v7 specials, the 2016 are ABS models. New 2016 - $10,500 Used 2016 with 980 miles - $8200 2014 Gray with 2000 miles - $6000 2013 Red/white 2000 miles - $5800 2013 Red/white 14,000 miles - $5000 (heated grips & ext. sump)...

2016 v7 ABS - is it worth it?

I checked - It comes with a 1 year warranty.

2016 v7 ABS - is it worth it?

The dealer is 800 miles away. Not sure about the warranty. I thought all MG dealers would honor the warranty.

2016 v7 ABS - is it worth it?

My wife will be thrilled to hear it will make me irresistible to the opposite sex. Would I be foolish to save $1300 from the cost of a new bike by getting a demo with 1000 miles. I'm sure the test riders were not doing a gentle break in with the bike.

2016 v7 ABS - is it worth it?

Then I guess I have to buy and install new header pipes to get back to a chrome look.
