    V7 III Service reminder wrench

So, having wondered about the "wrench" icon appearing at time of service, I've done the 6200 mile service requirements at 6100 miles by myself, when it was too wet to ride. Just waiting to see if the icon appears, went for a 130 mile ride yesterday, and at 6250 it appeared. Just a small icon...

    V7 III gearbox oil change

Performed my first gearbox oil change yesterday, have been studying it, wondering if it could be done without removing the RH exhaust pipe because it looks like the plug is too close to the crossover pipe to be removed. After a 50 mile ride in 45 degree weather, I grabbed my open ended 24 mm...

Saw 2015 V7 II for sale

The Yamaha/Kawasaki dealer in Sublimity, Oregon has a nice V7 II Special with 2200 miles for sale. VIN # ZGULWUA13FM200301

    Bored this morning, so...

Decided the tank needed striping, so added the side panel stripes. I got them a bit crooked, so will probably try it again later. I've been pondering something to offset the large blue space, and the older models with stripes look so good.

    v7 III rev limiter?

So, I needed to accelerate quicker than normal the other day, and noticed it was "cutting out" a bit sooner than I expected. Looked at the tach and it was at 5500 rpm! During my 100 mile escapade, I experimented through the gears and in every gear, it started cutting out at 5500 rpm. So, today...

Anyone have the factory v7 windshield?

I have the Dart Marlin on my v7III, but now that the weather is cooling down, thinking about something a bit larger, but not too much. The accessory catalog doesn't help with dimensions but the "touring shield" 2S001003 looks about right size.

    Just a bit of painting...

So, bored yesterday, I drilled out the holes on the injector covers, smoothed with my Dremel and painted with hammered silver paint. Then, masked off most of the right side and painted the rear brake master cylinder with hammered black paint, masked off the window, tho. I didn't like it sitting...

    modified airbox drain tubes

So, I decided those short little drain tube plugs coming from the air box were a bit of a hassle. They don't really hold much oil and are a bit fiddly removing. So, I got about 6 inches of 5/16" tubing and connected each end to both fittings. It holds more oil, is easier to see, and is easier...

    V7-III front brake caliper bolts

Just in case you are planning to take the caliper off the front forks, and think you have all the possible size sockets....the bolts have 7 mm allen heads! I don't have one, but discovered a Torx T-45 fit perfectly, even tight enough to torque properly when replacing.

    V7 III rear wheel removal

This is probably same as other V7 versions, but after the fiasco I had with a non-Guzzi dealer trying to remove my wheel, I decided to do it in my garage to become familiar. It is too easy, and took me a timed 18 minutes. (I do have a center stand.) Remove left muffler and left shock. Remove...

    V7 III flat rear tire

The one thing I did not like about the Special is the tube type wheels, guess what, at exactly 1500 miles today, I get a 1" deck screw in my rear tire. So, I call AAA and get flat bedded to the local former Triumph shop. He has a tube in stock! and I leave to come back tomorrow to pick it up...

First Brit review on new V7 III

Latest issue of MCN (MotorCycle News) from England, has report on the V7 III Special, and the tester loves it. He gives it 4 stars, only detraction is "limited ground clearance", but says "the bounce and jolt from the poorly damped V7 II's shocks has been replaced by a well controlled rear...

V7 III vs V7 II wheels interchangeable?

So, my V7 III special is on order, due end of month. Looking to put alloy wheels on it and I see a set on ebay from a V7 II Stone for a good price. I have compared part numbers of all parts from axles to spacers for both models and they are identical numbers, so can anyone confirm it will be a...

    Undecided on which v7 model...

I really have to have a new v7 this spring. I love the Special, but don't like spoked wheels with tube type tires. Tubeless are just safer because they don't lose air as rapidly. I could stand a Stone, but don't particularly like the matte finish or black pipes. Any comments to sway me would be...
