These motorcycles are so underrated that parts seems to be very difficult to obtain. And they cost a ridiculous amount of money. For example, a shift lever for a california stone is about 500us dollars ..i mean come on, seriously?!
And what about parts? The california seems to have the most expensive parts. I check for a rear fender and i only find them to be about 300euros without shipping!
btw i forgot to ask, what engine oil should i use for the bike? since the engine is a separate module from the gearbox, can i use oil that normally i use on my car or still i have to stick with motorcycle oil? sorry for the stupid question.
that rear fender is the original one? if i would like to change the fender from my California stone would i be able to find something to fit?
i have a crack on my rear fender and i dont if to replace it or Try to repair it(if it's possible). its a 2005 model and searching on the net for news i...
thanks john for your kind words, i hope my clutch is the same as the one you showed me in the photo and not of the early ones, i'm afraid to check, so far it works i just hope it lasts, including the valve lifters whatever they are.
kind regards
daniel
Thanks John, a bit reassuring, i test rode the bike and felt amazing , first guzzi ever. I bought it without even thinking twice or doing any research, now i’m very worried that i bought a time bomb. I also heard they suffer from the clutch, one spring vs double. And worst of all it seems that i...
Other question? that i forgot to add,
If i remove the valve cover and i found that i have hydraulic lifters, do i still have to worry? Were ALL hydraulic lifters Junk, Or just a batch?
Regards
Daniel
Hello To all
I know it's an old Thread but i will try my luck
I bought a motoguzzi california stone 2005 model with Vin ZGUKDC4KD2M155574 was this supposed to be affected by the Recall?

Thanks Timmy for photo, it helps to get a good perspective. I’m also astonished by how much ground clearance there is underneath the engine, i think its even more than my CRF250L. I like that small screen and the beautiful red colour your bike is really sweet, i thinks yours is also the early...
Hi to all
What i didn’t sad about my first comment was that once i had a brand new CB500F 2013 model, at that time the ABS was an optional thing costing around €300 more. It was going to be my first big motorcycle after my honda pcx125 scooter. I immediately disliked the looks of the muffler on...
Hello To All
I'm currently contemplating between buying a V7 or a V7II. the problem's are as follows.
first i noticed that from the first modern V7 up to the current V7III it seems that the seat height's were getting lower. I'm not a very tall guy (31 inch inseam)and the dealer ( Which we have...
personally i wish they introduce the Breva again, a little more modern version of course. 500cc liquid cooling transverse V with 50hp and less than 200kg wet would be that bad. of course I would prefer air cooling but euro 5 emissions might be tough and of course if they manage to pass the euro...
Hello To all
I have a small concern for the future of Moto Guzzi, as many of you might be aware, Euro 5 regulations are not that far away and according many motorcycles news air cooled engines on motorcycles are getting tough to be still in production. as far as I know BMW representative's sad...
