    Downsizing

I've been away from this board for a bit, but saw this thread and thought I had better throw in my two-bits on down-sizing. Last April I rode home a '07 Norge, 14,000 km on it, new tires, a beautiful bike. My reasons for buying it were two-fold, my wife couldn't ride long distance anymore and I...

    Tires for Norge 2007

jcjf, what tires do you have now? When I bought my 07 Norge this spring, the dealer had installed ContiMotion Z tires on it. Not sure how good they are but I have felt a bit of slippage in the corners. Being new to this bike, I'm not sure if it was the bike, the tires or the road surface.

    What does this plug do????

A bit difficult to distinguish on my tablet, but are you referring to the green or the white plug? And would my Norge have one too?

    Norge to Dualsport?

If you are only doing some casual riding on gravel roads, nothing aggressive, I would put the appropriate tires on, but definitely remove the side bags. That way if you go down, less damage.

    adjust clock Dash 2007 Norge

Put the key in, push down and turn the opposite way you lock or unlock. Then just give the bag a pull backwards. There is a small clip at the bottom front of the bag. A bit difficult to see and reach. They serve some kind of purpose.... If you need to store the bike for the off-season...

    adjust clock Dash 2007 Norge

Hey jcjf, you sound like me. I picked up my 07 Norge this spring and have been puzzled and challenged a number of times with it. Next question? How do you remove the side bags? Turned out to be real easy.

    checking the engine oil..

After reading the manual and staring at the bike for what seemed like forever, I discovered a round hole in the Tupperware just below the left cylinder. Right inside that hole was the yellow handle of the dipstick. What a pleasant surprise. Easy peasy.

    adjust clock Dash 2007 Norge

It took me over a month of farting around with that damn switch before I got it. Not sure of all the steps I went through but I'm not going to try it again. And then there are the settings for the two trip odometer......

What Are These Things on my Norge?

Ouch! That's almost $450 Cdn, and then the taxman gets his digs in. Thanks for the quick response. So by turning those heads, does it do anything? My '07 Norge really dives when coming to a stop.

What Are These Things on my Norge?

The two little "bolt heads" on either side, with the + and -. Are they something to do with the front suspension? I have the Norge 1200 manual on my computer, but there is nothing mentioned in it about adjusting the front suspension.

Riding West Out of Kamloops, BC

Thanks. Yeah, we have some great roads in this province. I've done just about every one of them and keep going back for more.

    Centrestands again

Top one looks very much like the one on my 07 Norge. 2V?

How Do You Remove the Side Bags on a Norge?

After having to deal with parking a Gold Wing in the corner of a single car garage, now that a smaller bike has come along, it'll be a breeze parking the Norge with the bags and trunk off. I can't believe how easy it is to take the bags off and put back on. Taking the trunk off took the...

How Do You Remove the Side Bags on a Norge?

I'm looking ahead to this winter when I put the Norge to bed, stuffed into a small corner of my garage. The smaller the space required, the better. I took the rear trunk off tonight. It was easy, just four bolts and then installed a black plastic plate. But the bags have me stumped. I really...

Emblem is Peeling off Norge Tank

Well that was easy. Other than being thankful I had a couple of longish finger nails. Next time I wash the bike I'll wax it too and bring back the shine in the tank. Thanks.

Emblem is Peeling off Norge Tank

WD40? That's it? I'll get right on it. Much appreciated!

Emblem is Peeling off Norge Tank

I guess it's called an emblem, but whatever it is, it's peeling off. I would like to remove it completely and clean the glue/crap off the tank. That would leave the red Moto Guzzi plate by itself. So what's the best product to cleanly remove the glue/crap off the tank?

Front end is bouncing when coming to a stop

So that's a bobbin! I've never heard that term before. What is the spray that's being used? Something simple like WD40?

Riding West Out of Kamloops, BC

Heading west out of Kamloops, BC on Hwy #1, I travelled to Cache Creek, then north on Hwy 99 a few km and got on to the start of Hwy 99. Hwy 99 heads south to my destination of Lillooet, but if one were to stay on it, it would take you through to Whistler, the #1 ski resort in North America, then...

Front end is bouncing when coming to a stop

I recently purchase an 07 Norge, 15,000 km on it and have noticed some strange behaviour as I'm coming to a stop. At the point where I'm slowing and down to 3rd or 2nd gear, brakes are being applied and I'm within seconds of stopping, the front end starts bouncing. Almost as if the front wheel...
