Sport 1200 rear caliper slide pin. Two types?

Up for pads for the rear of my 1200 Sport. Service manual says that there is a split pin that should be removed to extract the slide pin. Mine doesn't have it and the end of the pin is recessed so it can't have a split pin on the end. Looking at pictures of cailpers on Ebay for Guzzis and it...

Anyone modded a standard Breva 1100 muffler?

Just bought a perfect original Breva 1100 muffler. Looks really nice but I would imagine not sound as good as my aftermarket pipe I was wondering if anyone removed the baffle inside for better tunes? If so how did you do it? Thanks! I know it doesn't fit my Sport 1200 yet, but am looking at...

I think I have fixed my Guzzis handling...finally. Duh!

My Guzzi has driven me a special type of batty trying to work out what is wrong with the handling. The rear end was way to soft and that has been sorted with a respring/revalve. It improved things but it still had a wobbly front end. (didn't inspire confidence at all!!! Ride at speed at your own...

Am I expecting too much or is this easily fixed????

Went for a ride on my Sport 12 yesterday with a mate. This week I had my rear shock resprung and revalved and it is a totally different bike. It still however isn't a good handler. My ZRX1200R and particularly my GPZ900R would run rings around it, and the GPZ is 30 years old. I do like flogging...

Did my intermediate plate gasket tonight-small holes in the casting.

Not sure if clear in the picture but I found quite a number of casting holes in my intermediate plate when I had it and my sump off tonight. (about centre of the picture. )Goes all the way through to whatever is underneath them. Anyone else find these in theirs???? :(

Australian (and New Zealand probably) Oil Filter Equivalents.

Oil filters are available at Repco- Ryco make a bike specific filter and its part number is RMZ126. It is $20. Repco make a filter for cars that fits and works- ROF117- $13 and it is to suit a BT50 Mazda, CX-5, Ford Focus etc. The box says that (guessing Ryco) Z632 is equivalent but i haven't...

You CAN buy the clutch lever pushrod assembly separately!

As the title states the pushrod assembly is available aftermarket. Genuine you have to buy a complete lever which is over $200AUS. Fairly buggered mine up changing the levers back to standard. got one on the way. :) http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/302468532206

    Sump off Sport 1200.

Very soon to remove sump (had it off before) and intermediate plate for dual gasket replacement. (preventative maintenance) Has anyone done it personally? Would you loctite the 4 bolts into the intermediate? Any idea on torque settings? Manual is a bit vague! Thanks! :)

Fuel connectors can be changed on plastic fuel lines.

Seen various posts around that fuel connector cannot be changed on a plastic fuel line Sport 1200. Did it tonight- how I did it was: There are three barbs on the fuel connector- I cut the fuel line and connector between the first and second using sidecutters. (furthest barbs from the end that...

Thanks for everyones help. Centrestand done. :)

Thanks to Dave from New Zealand for sending the stand. Arrived today. My home fabricated mount was spot one except had to grind less than half a mm from the stop that I made for the left. Had to guess where to put it so happy with that. What I wonder though is what is the stand supposed to butt...

Cheap footpeg option Sport 1200. :)

I don't like the standard aluminium only footpegs on the Sport. Slippery with wet feet and no isolation. Found that CBR600 footpegs DIRECTLY bolt in- everything- pin, spring and peg themselves. They look vaguely correct also. Guzzi footpegs were pretty expensive- Norge, Breva or Bellagio would...

    Oil cooler by KTM.

Underneath my 07 Sport 1200 2V today and I noticed a KTM decal on the bottom of the oil cooler. I wonder if it has been replaced, or was KTM owned by Piaggio or Aprilia at time? (whoever owned Guzzi then.) Anyone noticed this on their cooler???? Dunno if it is a good thing or not.

    Centrestand mounting home made....

I have a centrestand coming from a member here that is complete minus the brackets that mount it to the frame. I have a right bracket off a Breva 850 and needed the left. Couldn't find any online for a reasonable price and a new one that I would have to wait weeks for is around $180 including...

    Servicing fun....

Found stripped sump the other day. :( Yesterday changed airfilter and fuel filter. Airfilter was clogged solid with foam that noise arrestor in top of airbox filled it with- it had disintegrated. Cleaned the remains off the airfilter top. Not needed. Thinners got rid of goo remaining. Cracked...

    How do you fit this????

http://www.tlm.nl/webshop/en/fuel-hose-pump-connector-ev-03-011066920000-moto-guzzi Thanks! (Do you pull on line to remove old one??? Do you cut line and put new connector in the line? (line is long enough to do so.) Is heat needed to fit????)

Engine Drain Plug Thread. Misprint by Guzzi.

Had a bit of fun with a stripped drain plug on my Sport1200. Helicoiled now and is ace. I wanted to make sure that I redid the thread with the standard pitch. The plug in my bike is M10 X 1.5. Because mine was stripped I suspected it may not be the correct plug. The Guzzi manuals (many of...

    Second hand bikes. Yay. :(

First oil change to my new-to-me Sport 1200 and I find the sump plug is stripped. What also is fun is the plug is not the correct one- standard is M10 X 1.0 and the one in my bike is M10 X 1.5. I guess previous owner stripped it and said- this will do.... :( He had the left hand pot valves...

    Centrestands again

I've noticed that there is two different centrestands available for the Norge/Breva/Sport. Are they any different functionally? More clearance? Thanks
