Engine shutting down on cold start

I have the exact same problem. And since new, it refused two times to even have the starter turn the engine on the first time. I think the starter relay might be the cause. This relay also has a delay if I'm right. That is, I used to touch the button and it would continue to start until the...

Oil Filter doesn't come loose (Norge)

Ok guys. Bosch 3330 it's going to be. But what's wrong with the Fram?

Oil Filter doesn't come loose (Norge)

Pete, if I have a leak around the filter then what would be the main culprit? I had the same leak early on on my 08 Norge and the dealer I had told me (at the time; spring 09) that there was a recall on the oil pan. It was supposedly wrongly machined around the filter location. As it was in for...

    Latest Guzziology

Well. That"s good to know. I thought it referred to ECU or PCV programmations. I used to work for Detroit Diesel and when I left, they were up to DDEC 4 ECM (or ECU) programmation. Version 1 was out in 1985 and 4 was 2001. Thanks for the info Todd.

    New Guzzi dealer in Montreal

For what it's worth, more than 2 months after e-mailing Piaggio Americas thay replied recommending me getting my Norge serviced at that new dealer in Mtl. Dan, he's close to you in Pierrefond. Have you had a look there?

does oil pressure depend from it's amount?

Strange... My last two HifloFiltro (HF 551) leaked including the one I have on right now. I'm beginning to think the leak comes from the oil pan. I'll try another brand. I read Walmart have one that's recommended on one of the post. We'll see.

    Breva V11 Speedo fault

You might want to look at the "tech" board and type "speedo sensor fix". This could probably fix your problem if it is electrical. Hope this helps anyway.

    New Guzzi dealer in Montreal

Now that's more like it! Let's hope they have the same dedication and knowledge as the previous Mtl Dealer cause where I'm at right now (Ottawa) it's like the desert. I don't mind doing 500 klicks (turn around)to get proper service if needs be though I do all my own now that the warranty is out.

New Canadian Moto guzzi dealer in Toronto

Pretty sad as they are relatively easy to work on maintenance wise. Local dealer had yougsters in the shop as mechanics. I'd say freshly out of trade school. Too bad. And then add the dealer's attitude for bikes he didn't sell. Fortunately mine has been reliable so far...

    Mystery Breva Oil leak!?

I seem to remember that MG had a recall for early Norge 1200 that were leaking around the oil filter. The solution was to remove the pan and lightly mill its mating surface as these presented problematic machining finish on the surface. So I was told by my (now closed) dealer in Montreal...

    Norge oil pump failure?!

Remove and open up the oil filter(got the proper filter wrench?). If there is copper, iron (magnetic) or other soft gray or shiny material, it'll most likely need a crank regrind as well as associated new parts for a rebuild not forgetting an oil pump if it is the original cause of seizure.

    Teo Lamers dip-stick extension *Warning*

I've got one which I installed just before winter. Any ideas on the exact hi-low level correction on the dipstick (i.e distances)? I was a bit puzzled when I installed it as it looked like the tube could be slid up or down in its bushing and adapters bolting to the engine. I bottomed the tube in...
