    Moto Guzzi 100th Anniversary, 10th-12th September 2021.

Given the impracticality of making a trip to Lake Como in Sept, Guzzi owners in Tasmania are planning a pleasant ride to the Great Lake Hotel on Sunday March 14. The Great lake is central to the Island so owners can come up there on great roads from all over the State. Hopefully the weather will...

    Moto Guzzi 100th Anniversary, 10th-12th September 2021.

Although I have paid a deposit for having my bike shipped across to Europe, I dont reckon its going to happen for many of us down here. International travel is just too risky and while we may well have our injections by next September, the uncertainty is just too great to be able to plan. Am...

    More Air?

oh dear You see Australia is a big place and Tasmania is an Island off its coast you can only get to by air or on a boat that takes an overnight trip. Options for Guzzi expertise are limited as to where you can practically take your bike to. Despite the isolation in Tassie we are at present...

    More Air?

Thanks for that. Yep the ring is what I was thinking about. Re fueling. Not confident to do myself. Current plan is to take to PR but cant get to the mainland due to the virus. That will have to wait until early next year ( I hope). Re exhaust. Already has a MIVV on it. cheers

    More Air?

A question. Is it worthwhile modifying the air inlet box on a Stelvio to allow greater flow? Many years ago I owned a California Jackal and by removing the top of the air inlet box and replacing it with a retaining ring to just hold the filter in, had a noticeable increase in performance (and...

    Neutral Switch Access

The problem seems to have gone away. I pressed a screw driver end against the top of the switch and that seems to have fixed he loose connection. Likely will return though and still not sure how I will get access. Latest theory is to remove airbox and or the mudguard fitting underneath the seat...

    Front fork issue

Thanks for that but the seal was rooted. The inner steel circle of the seal was dislodged and frayed. All fixed now. Not as difficult as i thought to do. Made up a clamping block for the main tube by drilling a large hole in a piece of wood then cutting that piece into two halves. cheers

    Neutral Switch Access

Thanks Mate, Yep I know where it is. Was hoping to avoid a major exercise though especially given the effort a couple of weeks ago when I decided to grease up the swing arm bearings. Glad I did as they were quite dry as were both ends of the cardan shaft. A lot of work though getting the...

    Neutral Switch Access

Have a 2012 Stelvio which is running great. Have just noticed though an intermittent issue with the neutral light. Have located where the switch is and with jiggling the wire have replicated somewhat the fault. So believe the problem is at the switch end rather than the ECU. Problem is... How do...

    Newbie looking for info.

Suggest Mario at Thunderbikes in Perth. I know its the other side of the continent but he is a god guy and knows his Guzzi stuff unlike Peter Stevens in Vic. If he sends by Express Post only takes a couple of days to get to you.

    Front fork issue

Have removed the fork tube and didnt break anything so far. It was bloody cold this morning in the shed at 4 deg C. Have decided to head into town to see if I can find some 7.5W. Failing that will take Tomintoul's advice. Thanks guys.

    Front fork issue

The left front leg on my Stelvio is leaking. Definitely the seal. They arrived today. Have consulted the workshop manual so am all prepared but..... The fork oil? Havent changed fork oil on my Stelvio before. The manuals suggest 7.5W, but the local bike shop here has only 5W and 10W. Before I go...

    Change in Lambda Probes?

Hello there. Have a 2012 Stelvio, Factory Roller, with twin lambda probes. Have read somewhere that Guzzi original probes are a cheap type and lack range. If that is so is there any benefit in changing to better quality probes, with better range? If so; any recommendations? Yes I know that a...

    Bolt/ screw sizing issue

Bit late now but.....apologies. My Stelvio does have Torx screws exactly where you are working. Both top and bottom both sides. Takes a T20 head. Only ones I can find on the machine but there may be more lurking somewhere. Suppose its because the throttle bodies are from an external supplier...

    Bolt/ screw sizing issue

My previous V9 had both Torx and Allen screws. Bloody annoying. Fortunately my current Stelvio has only Allen heads. Re hammer comment just now. The good old no 8 wire approach from Kiwis eh? In this part of the world we need to be innovative towards problem solving don't we ;)

Everything you ever wanted to know about the 1200 8V engine tappet failure but were afraid to ask.

It was the distributor (Peter Stevens) in Oz who gave the misleading info. They don't sell many Guzzis down here in Tassie and frankly I had to tell the local blokes here about the issue, and what to look for based on the advice on this forum. Advice which I presume they checked in the form of...

Everything you ever wanted to know about the 1200 8V engine tappet failure but were afraid to ask.

Turns out my machine was a factory roller machine after all. phew!! The distributor got me nervous unnecessarily. A couple of pictures sent to them changed their mind, backed up by the great info on this site. cheers

    power outlet size or type

Actually 2 outlets; one on the dash and one under the passenger seat. For me fits a standard automotive cigarette adaptor fine. Maybe a small difference between US and European adaptors? Not sure
