    Early V7 Radial Tire Thread

Had the same problem with my v7iii. I got a Conti trail attack 3. Despite the name it is not a trail tire, looks like a street tire and performs as well as the road attack 3 I replaced.

    Spark Plug Gap

Hi I am doing my 50,000 km maintenance on my 2017 v7iii and just noticed i have been setting the plug gap wrong. My manual says 1.92" which is obviously wrong so I assumed they misplaced the decimal and have used .020" ( like my old brit bikes) all these years. I have never had any problems...

    V7 III Rear Drive issue

Hi I have a 2017 v7iii but can't see any hole in the drive tube. How big and where is it? Also I don't see any mention in the manuals about greasing the drive shaft spline. When is it recommended? I only have about 40,000 km and plan to check it next time I change the tire. On my K75 the spline...

    Early V7 Radial Tire Thread

I live in Quebec and ride from March to end of November on my 2017 v7iii stone. I am currently on my second set of Continental road attack 3's. I find them superior to the OEM Pirelli's for wet and cold riding and they last twice as long. On the first set I got over 20,000 km on the rear and...

Adding a tachometer to a V7 III Stone.

Hi Sorry for the late reply. The v7 has a separate coil for each cylinder so you need a tach for a single cylinder bike, thats why I ordered the 8hz unit instead of the 16hz unit that work on most Japanese or Harley twins where even if you have 2 coils they still fire together.

    Windscreen for V7 III stone

I just went for a test ride with new national cycle screen installed. It was 1° C and the screen provided great protection. Still has a bit of turbulence on the helmet, but if I bend just slightly it becomes completely quiet.

    Lifting V7 Stone III

The adaptor I made contacts the rear frame crossbar and the rear of the oil pan. It clears the exhaust.

Adding a tachometer to a V7 III Stone.

I missed the tach also, but at the time it was more important to have mag wheels and tubeless tires. The $1000 less price tag for the Stone also helped.

Adding a tachometer to a V7 III Stone.

It is not plug and play. I had to splice onto the red/orange wire of the coil connector for the signal. The ground I connected to a coil mounting bolt and the positive power I spliced to another connector (in the steering head).

Adding a tachometer to a V7 III Stone.

Just added a tach to my V7 III stone. Got it on Ebay from a seller called motormeterracing. Price is not the cheapest at US$90 delivered. It is a made in Taiwan, and appears to be much better built than the $20 Chinese ones I have purchased for other bikes. It is made for single cylinder 4...

Matris V7 F15K Full Fork Cartridge Kit

Matris includes Motorex 5w fork oil with the kit. It doesn't say on the container if it is synthetic or not. Level is 130 mm from top (approx 275ml per leg). I weigh 200 lbs and this setup works fine on my v7iii.

    Water in final drive oil.

I just noticed the same problem with my 17 v7iii stone, rear end was leaking onto tire and completely filled with with white foamy oil. The vent is working properly and I can hear the steel ball in there when I shake it. The rubber shaft cover up front is in good shape and clamped on tight so...

    Lifting V7 Stone III

I use a motorcycle jack available at CT or PA for around $100. I made an adaptor out of scrap wood and rubber pads that lifts my V7iii at the rear of the oil pan and the lower rear frame cross bar (behind the cannister). I've used this jack for years with all my Brit bikes.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll be installing the Contis this winter.

    Early V7 Radial Tire Thread

Can anyone tell me the actual installed width of the Conti RA3 110/80 18? I installed Conti Classic Attacks on my BSA and the actual front tire width was only 93mm (after 6000 km) and not 101 to 108mm (100/90/19 front) as stated in Conti tech manual. Not complaining as they work great, but...

Errors in the V7iii Service Manual

I just downloaded the engine service manual for the v7iii and it also says .15 and .1 mm so I'm going with that.

    Early V7 Radial Tire Thread

I just purchased my Guzzi so don't have experience on the V7iii yet. Installed Continental road attack radials with tubes on my 71 BSA rocket 3 and it is a major improvement over the old Dunlop tt100 or Avons. Much better grip, especially in the rain. I only have 4000 km on them but they still...
