    Foam on Fuel Tank Underside

Can anyone tell me what the purpose of the foam is on the fuel tank underside? With time and heat it has pretty much disintegrated an serves only to clog the air cleaner (see attached photos). I have since removed the remaining foam with the gooey adhesive that held it there using lots of...

New '06 B11 Owner First Impressions; Nits & Picks

I cured my side stand nit with of all things, a hockey puck! A little cutting, drilling, sanding and viola, no more grunting to get it of the side stand with a topped-off fuel tank. Bike still has enough lean to keep it secure. Photo attached.

Thanks Nordicnorm. I'll look into the O2 Optimizer and definitely give the fuel insert modification a go. With respect to the clutch engagement nit, I was able to back out the plunger to bring the lever a little closer to the grip. See my recent post on it for details of a required...

Clutch Lever Adjustment - Easy Modification

One of my nits with my new to me '06 B11 was the clutch engagement at the very end of the lever travel (farthest away from grip). Although it modulated well with no signs of clutch slippage, going from Triumph to the Guzz' was causing havoc in that I'd stall on one and over-rev the other when...

    B11 Accessory Mounts

Thanks Dave. RAM makes a specific set-up to replace the handlebar bolt. Easy-peasy. Have a look at the Amazon link with the photos which will better explain. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005J43I56/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    B11 Accessory Mounts

As a general rule I don't have the phone or GPS out (neither are water-friendly) if riding in the rain so it's not an issue for me. When not in use, the rubber weather tight cap of the power outlet seals it closed nicely.

    B11 Accessory Mounts

I bumped into a fellow 2006 B11 owner with 99k miles on his bike since new (not a forum member) who gave me a "why didn't I think of that!?!" remark after seeing my GPS and phone RAM mounting and power feed arrangements (dual USB outlet mounted to the right fork leg). I figured if he didn't...

Recovering Key Code with 2 Working Keys

Dave and Mackers, Thanks for your support. I finally got the courage to do this. I was only able to use the Code Recovery option which asked me to input my new code after inserting the second key. I tried the New Code function first but I was prompted for the old code which I did not have. All...

Recovering Key Code with 2 Working Keys

Call me a chicken. I have an awful feeling of pooching-up the process of recovering the key code (the previous owner did not have) so I can get a third key made-up for piece of mind should I lose one. The process involves removing the first key (essentially shutting everything off to remove it...

Mystery Neoprene In Air Filter - Any Guesses?

Dave, I didn't think to look under the tank for a couple of reasons but that makes perfect sense. Removing the tank for the first time and setting it down securely with a couple of gallons of gas in it while trying not to put any load on the side plastic "sponsons" was the one reason. The...

Mystery Neoprene In Air Filter - Any Guesses?

Found my air filter plugged with disintegrated neoprene "ash" and two 3-inch long strips. Amazing the bike was able to breath and run as well as it did. The square air cleaner cover top-side neoprene (acoustic insulation?) appeared intact. Luckily the air filter did it's job with the engine...

Breva 1100 Cylinder Head Removal Advice (engine mounted in frame)

It was in fact the claw tool (I call the mechanical fingers) that got it out. It took some doing (6 hours of tag-teaming) to manipulate the dowel from laying flat on the piston head to grabbing it so that it could be pulled vertically out. Had to lay the bike on it's side to have the...

New '06 B11 Owner First Impressions; Nits & Picks

Hello All, I am a new owner of a 2006 B11 and loving it with >1K miles added to the 14K miles I purchased it with last month. I've been riding mostly British and Japanese for the past 38 years and figured I should experience an Italian bike before I can't ride any longer especially considering...

Breva 1100 Cylinder Head Removal Advice (engine mounted in frame)

Thanks to all who replied and for being easy on me. WE GOT IT OUT!!!!! Nothing short of a miracle and no, it will not happen again in my lifetime. My brother and neighbor were over for moral support and help with all of us taking turns. After laying the bike on it's side and manipulating...

Breva 1100 Cylinder Head Removal Advice (engine mounted in frame)

Hello all, or I should say help!! I may need to remove the right cylinder head to extract a small piece of wooden dowel measuring 1" long x 5/16" diameter - a bit fatter than a pencil). I was too lazy and stupid to go in the house to fetch a straw to determine TDC for a valve adjustment and...

    New-bie in Need of Help

Hello All, I am a new owner of a 2006 B11 and loving it thus far with almost 1K miles added to the 14K miles I purchased it with just two weeks ago.
