    Riding in icy conditions

Having done more research, & contacting German & Austrian authorities on the matter, i can conclude that this is doable. I am yet to recieve word from the Austrians, but the German authorities told me that their strict winter tyre laws do not extend to motorcycles. The Italian laws are about as...

    Riding in icy conditions

That got me thinking about the laws in Germany. I did see a bmw riding toward me in baden-wuertemburg in dec 2017, but i'm getting mixed reports of their laws in regards to this, so i've contacted the authorities there for an answer straight from the horse's mouth. As for wanting to use a bike...

    Riding in icy conditions

Hello all, This is my last post for at least 12 months - i sold my nevada back in april due to a slipping clutch. I was also trying to get a job as a snowboard instructor & was too lazy to make chains for my beloved nevada. Anyways, i intend to buy another Guzzi in Germany & take it to the...

    The allure of Guzzi

Ah yes, them psychics will try anything remotely convincing to trick you out of your money... Meh, the 750's don't seem to mind city riding

Engine swap idea - "Toyota Guzzi"

Wow, looks clean! Exactly the kind of results i had in mind! Gives hope that i could pull this off with the Toyota engine

Engine swap idea - "Toyota Guzzi"

Love your responses, guys. I will definetely try this in the next 2 years regardless of where i end up, & i will create a thread & post my results if my account still exists by then. I am unsure what this forum's rules are when it comes to inactivity, nor do i think i would remember my password...

Engine swap idea - "Toyota Guzzi"

You just described my plans. But, i was going to grab everything in the engine bay instead of the whole car due to space issues. But, this may not happen for a few years - as next year is my last shot at a working holiday visa

    My interesting journey

This may get me in trouble for talking complete & utter nonsense, but after inviting other members to share stories, i felt it necessary to share my own. This one happened quite recently, mid January, when i headed south of the border, down..... Victoria way. One day i was looking on google maps...

Tube with no talc - should i worry?

That's strange, i did just that. I couldn't install it any other way. Thanks

Tube with no talc - should i worry?

I just installed a new front tyre without applying talc to the tube. It appaers the shop that fitted the metzeler didn't, either. However, the tube is a heavy duty michelin airstop about 4mm thick with a metal valve & the rim itself is knurled. Should i be worried? I completely forgot about this...

    Turn Signal Issues

Hmm, bad earth. Reminds me of my automotive pre-voc training course, where they induced one & challenged us to find the fault

Engine swap idea - "Toyota Guzzi"

Bare in mind that i'm going by the principle of twice measured, once cut. I will not attempt this until i am confident i can do it & have the funds to finish it. But, i have already priced a few parts - engine at $440, external fuel pump at $130, i've seen exhaust-grade piping at $20 per metre...

Engine swap idea - "Toyota Guzzi"

Thanks for the advice. My idea was to measure up the current frame, download some freeware blueprinting or design software, then design & build an extended front frame that will not only accomodate the engine & radiator, but also bolt right on to the rear end just like the original. An extra...

Griso - no longer sold in Aus?

Anyways, GT-Rx, if i decide to remain in Australia & i get the money ready to go, you'll be hearing from me ;)

Griso - no longer sold in Aus?

Not sure about VIC, but in NSW, we generally don't have emissions tests on anything classified as "used". If brakes & lights are up to scratch, instruments are metric, the filter is covered & sound doesn't exceed 98 dB, it'll be sweet. The engine i speak of is the 2NZ-FE. It produces 63kW with...

Griso - no longer sold in Aus?

I just visited that site. I reckon there'd be a bit of trouble getting it to Australia, but the overall cost is quite reasonable & still cheaper than a CBR1000. Sure, i could build a Nevada-based machine powered by a 1.2 litre toyota engine for less, (i posted a thread about these plans asking...

Griso - no longer sold in Aus?

I knew about the Stelvio - they pulled out long ago here. From what i've read, i thought it was because it didn't sit well with buyers. I guess the Griso was being cleared last year & i had other things to do - hence i only found out recently. My only gripe with many 'Guzzis are their lack of...

Engine swap idea - "Toyota Guzzi"

Just a hair-brained idea floating around my head for quite some time, i have long fantasized about attaching a car engine to a 'Guzzi box. The candidates were an alloytec V6 from a commodore, 6G72 "cyclone" V6 from a magna, & any boxer 4 from a subaru. However, the subaru & mitsubishi engines...

    Turn Signal Issues

You could also try replacing the shunt with some fuse wire if you can get it open & you're good with a soldering iron....
