    Sport 1200 4v tappets

If I'm going looking for a Sport to replace my Breva 1100 how will I know it's tappets are OK? When did they solve the issue in manufacturing and can I tell by the engine number? Some bikes have sat in a dealer for a year or so before being registered so I can't really go by it's year of...

    Service and DSB03

I've just had my dash back from those good people at Carmo.nl after the LCD gave up having been sat in pouring rain for several days. Having put it all back together and switched on it all lights up, the needles don't sweep but it asks for the user code. I enter this and it then sweeps and gives...

    Wrynose and Hardknott passes

I took advantage of the good weather yesterday and had a run round the south Lake District. The traffic was horrendous from Kendal to Ambleside but when you get on this little road there's very few who'll brave a trip along here. http://ravenglass-railway.co.uk/

    Fuel filter

What's the recommended interval for changing a fuel filter, I can't find it mentioned in the manual. I replaced the original half plastic one in May 2011 and have put 20,000 miles of fuel through the new one. I intend keeping this bike for a few more years so I keep on top of all the...

    DSB06 M ... Flashing! ! !

05 Breva 1100, 31,000 miles, service by myself every 6k miles. Just before it clocked up 30k I've been getting a DSB06 error in memory and it's flashing, not at a steady rate but it'll flash quickly for a few seconds then stop for a second or two, then start flashing again, slow, fast, slow...

    Four days in Scottyland

I've just read Fatal's trip and though I'd post some pics of my own trip. Wifey, my two girls and the mother in law were off to New York for a few days so rather than being out numbered on every decision and picked on I opted not to go. So I dropped them off at Manchester Airport at 7am got back...

    Bearings, Bearings, Bearings.

In the last 5k miles I’ve replaced the front wheel bearings, swing arm bearings, large carc bearing and I’m now onto the steering bearings. Luckily, I’ve stayed on top of the suspension linkage rollers and they’re OK. At the MOT a couple of months ago they go picked up the steering as ‘slightly...

    Breva swing arm and carc

I thought I'd get stuck into greasing the swing arm bearings today as I'd planned to do it sometime over the next couple of months. I found it a fairly straight forward job getting everything apart but this is what I found. I'm glad I found it when I did as it hadn't started to drip yet, come...

    APSB 0015 error

2005 Breva 1100, new battery last October. Rode the bike on Friday, no issues. Bike started this morning but had the service light lit, which isn't odd, when I turn the ignition on sometimes as the Datatool alarm causes it. Left it ticking over for a minute whilst I put my helmet and gloves on...

    Centre stand removal.

05 Breva 1100 My centre stand, lower pannier brackets, and one or two other bits are starting to look a bit tatty so they're going off to be powder coated. I'd like to remove the centre stand without taking the whole lot apart but the cat is a bit close on the r/h side to get a spanner in where...

    Breva won't start...sometimes!

Can anyone suggest what's going on with my Breva 1100? it’s an 05 model. This was happening once in a while but it's becoming more frequent and I’m worried that one day it just won’t go and I’ll be stranded. On pressing the start button the starter fails to turn, there is just a clunk sound, a...
