    V7iii Special tank removal

It goes down to a valve, then to the evap canister at the bottom of the bike if I remember correctly.

Changed gear oil today, and this came out. Any ideas?

Thanks for your reply, and your research! Looks like something that might have gotten in there from manufacturing, or something that got in there when I took it in for it's first service.

Changed gear oil today, and this came out. Any ideas?

When I removed the plug to drain the oil, it was hanging out a few inches, and I pulled it out the rest of the way.

Changed gear oil today, and this came out. Any ideas?

2017 V7III, 4500miles, 500cc gearbox oil. No leaks anywhere that I can see, bike runs amazing, shifts great. It's rubbery, maybe an applied sealant? Thanks

    V7iii Special tank removal

Does the hose slide off a fitting? Or does a fitting come out of the tank? The end of the hose has an oetiker clamp on it, and doesn't look like it should pull off. Thanks

1.5 hrs for break-in service on V7 Racer..?

If you look at the volume of oil used, it's the correct amount for the gear oil. I think they just called it final drive in the description. The user manual doesn't cal for final drive oil change till 20000km. At least they didn't charge me for work they didn't do.

    Cross Threaded spark plug

It ended up being some fine metal shavings stuck in the threads. Used a tap with grease on the end. Working it in and out a few times, cleaning and re-greasing the tap. Only had to go about half way in. Sparkplug goes in fine now! Thanks for the input guys!

1.5 hrs for break-in service on V7 Racer..?

I did the valve adjustment myself, all the valves needed a smidge of tightening.

Got my bike back from it's first service the other day... .55hrs

    Cross Threaded spark plug

Thanks for the reply. My understanding is that a back tap works from the inside out so you don't get filings into the cylinder.

    Cross Threaded spark plug

Thanks for the reply. I was just done adjusting the valves and was putting the plug back in. I tried the plug from the other side and it gets stuck at the same place. I tried your trick to clean the threads, and pulled out some fine metal filings, but still can't get the plug in. I'm going to...

    Cross Threaded spark plug

Looks like I cross threaded one of my spark plugs... What should I do now? I think it's just at the start, but I can turn the plug in with my fingers about two turns before it gets stuck.

1.5 hrs for break-in service on V7 Racer..?

Can't say I like the sound of that. I was planning to bring the bike in for its first service, and do the maintenance after that myself. I guess I'll be learning how to check and adjust the valves sooner than later.

1.5 hrs for break-in service on V7 Racer..?

I just booked my first service for my 17 V7 III, and asked if they check the valves. They said they won't look at them unless they're ticking.
