Just in case anyone else is wondering... the fuel tank breathes/ventilates properly even if the vacuum line is disconnected/blocked on the evap system. I’ve been checking for pressure/vacuum in the tank for 4 fill-ups and all is well (for as long as the tip over valve keeps working properly...
I have removed the brass coupling from the hose that connects the air intake to the charcoal canister, and replaced it with something that completely blocks the hose. Looks stock, but vacuum leak fixed.
For now, I have left the rest of the system intact. Is it correct that the fuel tank will be...
Hi all... been riding for just over one year. Started on a Yamaha V-Star 250 (cool little bike with a bit of V-Twin character), upgraded to a Yamaha MT-07 (Boring and uninspiring - speed isn't my thing), and finally bit the bullet and bought a new-old-stock 2016 V7 II Stone. Always loved the...
I actually had the filling plug out, thanks. I flushed some fresh oil through before doing the final fill... at least there wasn't any metal shrapnel coming out.
I already had the screen out, thanks.
It’s always parked in my garage and there have never been any drips on the floor, so I don’t think it leaked out.
I'm just performing my first service on my 2016 V7 II Stone and when I drained the gearbox oil, hardly anything came out. I believe it should have had 500ml in it, but it wasn't even close.

It’s a 2016 with a slightly higher serial number than the last one reported with a problem. Just coming up on the first service and no problems so far. Thanks, I’ll make sure to keep the clutch adjusted as recommended here.
I know, and I did :)
I was trying to figure out if this problem is likely to show up sooner with mostly city driving/lots of shifting because the clutch spends less time pushing against the crank and holding it in place? I dunno, I’m no mechanic.
The dealer was reluctant to check it before delivery, but eventually said they "would check into it". Just before delivery they said "The bike checks out OK, everything seems fine.", but wouldn't elaborate on what exactly they checked.
When I took delivery the sales guy mumbled stuff about Moto...
Hello all.... Just bought a new old stock 2016 V7 II Stone, and will be taking delivery in a few days. Serial number is just outside of the reported problem batch (...GM200645), but it still could be affected, since there are no reports of lower numbers being OK.
Can the dealer check the...
