2017 V9 stator ac voltage testing

Couple of suspect areas but looks more like insulating resin or varnish drips from assembly and nothing like the roasted examples I've seen. Parts on order from the store. Just a side note removed the stator cover without unfastening or removing the ABS bracket. Tank was not removed for this or...

2017 V9 stator ac voltage testing

Cold engine values. If it would stay this way all good. After 30-40 minutes on the road the indicated voltage has degraded incrementally to 12-12.1 volts at higher rpms and the battery is beginning to discharge to which on restart I get the clicks and the starter will not engage. Revving over...

2017 V9 stator ac voltage testing

Maybe pointless trying to attribute a cause of a stator that is almost equally anemic on all Stages. It just is what it is, but could (I guess) result in the loss of 2 or 3 charging volts which is what I am experiencing. I don't have any kind of a table that expresses input (AC) voltage to the...

2017 V9 oem voltage regulator testing

Ah! Exactly. Had it on DC. Thank you. A couple of days before a retry.

2017 V9 oem voltage regulator testing

This is the connector from the wire loom exiting the stator cover. I don't know which is terminal 1 but either way starting from right to left and then left to right tested output according to the repair manual description. Reading was 0 volts on each of the phases regardless of rpm. So either...

2017 V9 oem voltage regulator testing

Have not check the stator output voltage when running yet. Have checked the stator ohms when not running. 0.6 ohms each, no shorts to ground. I'll do the engine running voltage check and get back. Thank you.

2017 V9 oem voltage regulator testing

The service manual is somewhat lacking. Ohm testing with not running. I monitor the voltage continuously as its blue toothed to my Moto Guzzi app on my Android. Thanks

2017 V9 oem voltage regulator testing

Couldn't find after a search. Do I test as a single phase and treat the red/white as a single contact and the green as a single contact or separately. Unless I'm doing this incorrectly I don't any readings no matter what combinations I try. Thanks, Roland Never mind. Had the meter on the wrong...

    V9 Roamer speedo illegible

but when I rode it (in the dark) I could do no better than just keep up with the flow of traffic, but I had no idea what gear I was in or what speed I was doing. So you don't have this issue when you ride in the day Page 33 of the V9 owners manual. Also the back light being red helps...

    Final drive leak thread

2017 V9 Roamer mileage 4316 12-05-2018 Found oil on right side of wheel/tire after a 30 mile mid 40's ride at freeway speeds. Inspection revealed oil drip forming on bottom of final drive at wheel. No oil leaking before start of trip when I checked tire pressure. Returned to dealer for...
