What size socket for front axle nut on Norge

Just trying to take my front wheel off for the first time (myself) to take it over for a new tire and realized I don't have anything to fit it. Need to run down and buy a single socket for the axle nut. What size socket is it? I only have an inches caliper and as near as I can do the...

    starting a family

I rode bikes (BMW /5s) from 1972 to 1985 and then quit for some years. I got back into it in 2000 with a K75S then a K75RT and now an '07 Norge. Michael

Thanks for the map! I will have to give that a shot next year. I am quite sure that it would be folly to try that much later than now. Michael

    norcal, southern oregon jaunt

Is it possible for you to post a map/route of the Oregon portion of this ride? I live up in the Portland area and would really *love* to find out more about the part that you did in Oregon. Michael

    Hand guards for Norge?

So any part numbers? It sounds like something I could pursue since I know that the Helibars are farther back than the MI risers having used both. Michael

    Hand guards for Norge?

Howdy, Starting to get a bit cold in the morning again here in Oregon. I have an '07 Norge with the Helibar setup. I know that someone was discussing adding hand guards to the Norge, but I can't seem to find that discussion. I seem to remember that at the time it didn't sound too interesting...

    Broken Norge Exhaust

I have the same situation except that I caught mine a little sooner by the looks of things. I am awaiting a part from Italy and there is currently no ETA. This winter I *really* must get my old R75/5 running so I have a backup to ride when the Guzzi is shop bound. Michael

    Norge cracked collector pipe

OK. Another question. I have a cracked collector pipe on the Norge that is leaking exhaust. The dealer here says that a new part is $182.88. Should I replace it, see if I can get it welded or some other solution that I haven't thought of. Thanks in advance, Michael Gies

    Norge spins but won't start

First time I have ever had the Norge not start (excepting a time when I didn't keep the battery up on a long non-riding). Everything worked just fine yesterday. Drove to work. Did an errand mid day. Drove home in 90+ degree heat. No signs of any problems whatsoever. This morning I roll it...

'07 Norge - gas smell in garage

Ok. I got the tank back on and after putting blue loctite on the screws of the fuel pump access plate, I am still getting the gas smell. Any other ideas? Is there some sort of gasket under that plate that could be the culprit? Michael

'07 Norge - gas smell in garage

Help! Now I have taken the tank off and put some thread compound on each of the bolts holding the pump housing in place and cleaned things up and put the tank back on.... Almost... :( I can't get the rear (seat end) bolt back in. The front two line up ok, but that rear one is just enough...

'07 Norge - gas smell in garage

Thanks all for your speedy replies. As this is happening *all* of the time and not just when I get done with a ride, I am gravitating towards the bolts that hold the fuel pump assembly. I will check that out at the next garage "bonding" experience with the Norge. @Brian UK: What is red...

'07 Norge - gas smell in garage

Folks, I need help as my lovely wife is about to boot the Norge out of the garage. It has this nagging gas smell. Not like there is gas on the floor or anything and the bike has 23K miles on it. Where could this smell be coming from and how difficult would it be to remedy? Michael
