If you had some water in the gear oil, remember to take a look at it after first 100 or so miles, as if corrosion made some progress inside, it will migrate to oil, making it cloudy again, but rusty shade, not milk this time. Then you will have two paths, for brave and not-so-brave, either open...

Look at my pics, sorry for description in non-readable language, but anyway - I think just a few of them are of any use for you. If you want to get to a big seal, I'd heat up alloy plate with big bearing and try to tap the steel "middle" out of alloy...
So, you have to understand, most of those idiot lights are permanently fed by +ve, and for example, neutral or oil pressure bulb just needs ground to go "on". The ground comes straight from switch. In case of generator, one end is permanently fed by +ve as we said, other - by nothing; until...
OK, it seems then, that there's not enough juice in the engine to pull properly - I mean, not enough fuel. Few possible paths to follow, first, try when doing what you do to open choke a bit - this will increase fuel in the mixture and will give us a hint if lack of fuel can be a true reason. If...
But hold on, this wire clip is just for that, for holding the cables' housing IN PLACE. It's nice to see it made in alloy, BTW - usually this is plastic too. Seems like you force pushed throttle back too far at some point, "breaking" its initial position "bumper" . Just take those two or three...
I would say clutch "has seen better days", and then that phase between "work" and "no work" is very sharp, more like on/off thing. Forgive me, but there's plenty of jokes regarding Americans being unable to drive manual gearbox cars, so to keep things clear, I will ask, OK, engine running -...
I think you may mix up two things. Fork oil as we understand it, does no damping job in Guzzi front end, just lubricating. All the damping happens in enclosed unit, and I remember somebody drilled it to replace oil inside, but what amount, what grade - I cannot say. So be assured dismantling...
Enjoy your ride, mate. This is not an issue, this is a feature of these bikes. And a dozen of other features, which don't affect the ride. These bikes will be 50yrs old soon, don't spoil your day detecting their gimmicks:)
But hold on, how is he gonna tell us what was the fault, once he found it out?:) Bergie, do some quiet homework and come back here after you've made some progress:)
OK. Yes you can take rotor off and run the engine with pickups uncovered. But make sure when adjusting the pickups, not only the angle is important, but the gap too: use the feelers, piece of tin from the can, or just a piece of paper. As flywheel crown has 90 teeth, every tooth counts as 4...
Why look for Breva if Saprisa was fitted to plenty of other ones - quite early Nevadas, NTXs, etc - we're entering fiddling season, just be patient and hunt for one on eBay, you've got several months, you'll find one. I bet California ones are worth looking too.
Just took a look at eBay, "Leo...
Hi, mate, I use this generator on my airhead for years and I had the very same problem, charging from 3krpm up, what means, from 50mph - on! The seller of this set wasn't much helpful and I went along old guys' advice. The initial charging point can be brought down by using a bigger charging...
"New aftermarket coils", you say. Are you sure they got same resistance as factory ones described in the book? The low one would be important, not in kOhms, but in Ohms. My manual's copy don't cover that, so make your own research.
As long as I remember it's a thousand revs per every 20kph, that makes 5krpm at 62 mph. And if somebody has put V35 gearbox in it, then V35 revs at 5th gear equal V50 revs at 4th, if you compare them at the same speed.
Now bad points:
a metal base of the seat can be rotten.
Take a careful...
Differences - quite a few. Carbs of course. Different gearbox ratios, with most important primary ratio; then, V65 uses needle bearings not ball ones; clutch - bigger spline shaft diameter - so clutch disc too; ignition advance point a few degrees difference; cc capacity not only due to...
Hi, you seem to have a lot of background, so I don't want to sound silly, but: ignition advance under 2500 is static, and then jumps from 7? to 20 or 30-plus degrees, to rise then smoothly with revs from there on. So, your impression of reach mixture could also be a poor combustion and you can't...
Could be. But then an entire idea of stem seal would be wrong, as how to maintain oil presence in the guide if seal does what it says on the label. Then, with 66kmiles on the clock, I find my engine healthy enough to pull sidecar with no trouble. So, lack of oil in the guide isn't that lethal...
