Griso 8V SE or Multistrada 1200S Touring

Yeah the Griso's tank is small. Yeah there's not a lot of luggage options without making it look kinda ugly. But I wholeheartedly agree with if you have the will you can tour on almost anything. I've toured on my griso and fuel stops just take some pre-planning, and/or a gps to find a nearest...

    USA to get 8v SE

He said next year at the end of November, and I assume that meant 2011 but I didn't ask specifically.

    12v supply on Griso 8v?

http://www.easternbeaver.com/index.html Jim at Eastern Beaver does quality work. I have some of his products on my V-Strom now and they are well assembled with excellent quality.

    griso windscreen

MI can get it for you. What the current cost is, I'm not sure.

    New 2010 Griso 8V!

Be careful what you use, my old white '09 griso had yellow marks around where the stickers used to be that had penetrated into the plastic. I think it was probably some spilled gas that soaked the stickers and bled their color off into the plastic. It might've been that the previous dealership...

    USA to get 8v SE

My dealer /twitch /twitch told me that MG is going to be importing the 8v SE to the states next year! :woohoo: I just wish the SE came with wave rotors....

Any problems with Termig can on Griso 8v?

+1 That happened to me and my termi pipe was fried, I eventually drilled the cat out, but broke the sound dampener in the end of the pipe (brain fart and cant think of the common name for em) when I was removing it. It had somehow fused in to the pipe. Anyway I drilled out the rivets on the end...

    Griso Custom

I know plenty of people who'd say the early Griso 1200's were all sorts of messed up just due to the cam recall/potential problems. Each bike has it's quirks, besides my Suzuki V-Strom; that thing just purrs along seemingly unconcerned by whatever I throw at it. Granted it has no character and...

    Fin guards for Griso 8V?

The Stucchi bars are decent, I've used them :silly:. I'd say they minimize damage rather then prevent it outright depending on the severity of the crash. They're better then nothing but will bend and push up against the heads in a decent crash, and are not super heavy duty due to no midpoint...

I might need a new engine.....

Well insurance is going to total it so that makes me happy. Will probably pick up something cheaper for the winter and get another Griso in the early spring or late winter. I really really liked the Griso, and if I still feel strongly enough about it at the end of the winter then I'll get...

    The word on Ping

I've never had a problem with pinging even riding in 100°F (~38°C) on my 8v, though I do live at 5280' (1600m) and put 91 octane (US) in.

The Griso You all want, makes all others slow

I was implying that it's well known that the Griso isn't the fastest bike on the road. If they wanted something faster they should've gotten a 1000cc+ sport bike.

The Griso You all want, makes all others slow

If they want something faster they should go buy a hayabusa.

    klanky gear change

I'm not sure quite what's up, Best I can figure is the tech didn't know about the TPS reset after a new map. On my first service sheet of tasks completed there was a check mark that was scribbled out on "Throttle Body Sync" so I figured it either wasn't needed or wasn't done (I've heard stories...

    New nervous griso owner

Personally I think all brands have this problem. It's just a lot easier to find a good dealership for <insert more popular brand name> because of the volume of dealerships is much higher then the number of Guzzi dealerships. Percentage wise I'd guess that the good to bad dealership ratio is similar.

    klanky gear change

My gearbox on my 2009 G8V always gave the good clunk when shifting on occasion; it was more frequent when the box wasn't up to operating temp. As with the odd noises that the bike made I learned to think nothing of it. Adjusting the throttle cable slack via the adjuster screws helped reduce but...

I might need a new engine.....

The bike was running for about 10-15 seconds after it was on it's side (the oil was all out by then) and then it shut off. So I'm not sure if the engine is toast. Though I might've blacked out for a few seconds so it might've been running longer. Yes I have full coverage insurance and if they...

I might need a new engine.....

Good news is I'm ok. It was caused by a metal water pipe cover which was kicked up by my front wheel, and lodged between the hole in the road and caught my oil pan. I high sided at about 15 mph and flew over the bars. The water pipe cover (heavy iron thing) was 10-15 feet down the road next to...

    Griso Fuel Ecomomy

On road trips on my 8v I'll get 38-43mpg US; 14.7 - 18.28 km/l. I've gone 150 miles on a tank before on a section of a road trip a couple months ago, and the gaslight came on just before I pulled in to fill up. I have the 068 map which helped. However around town, I mean city stop and go...

    Major Oil Leak

Sounds like a loose clamp in the oil line. Or a rock/debris was kicked up and blew a hole in the cooler but that's far less likely then a loose clamp.
