    Tire list

Well, in hindsight, I should have never set out on a long trip without changing it. 5k was probably at the limit. It's definitely the most miles I've ever gotten out of a rear on any bike.

    Tire list

I just hit 8100 on my factory Pirelli Scorps, but the rear is GONE. I left on a 3000 mile trip and it looked good, but about halfway through, the tire started to show some severe cupping. Now that I'm home, you can barely see the steel starting to show through. Front not half bad, but I'll...

    Peter N's- Russel Day-Long saddle

Right, which is why I said - Sorry, I shouldn't have hijacked the thread. Peter N's Day-Long is a great looking seat.

    Peter N's- Russel Day-Long saddle

Not to detract from any Russell discussion, but I'm apparently one of the two with a new Bill Mayer. Haven't had a chance to put many miles on it yet, but I leave Monday for about 3000 miles from Texas to Vegas to Denver then home. Should be broken in by then, hoping for a drastic improvement...

    Aftermarket Seat

I didn't notice any difference with the Mayer, either. Possible, but not enough for me to tell without focusing on it during the swap. It is a heavy seat, but with a near-500 lb. bike, I don't think it's an issue for me. Maybe if I laid off the beer for a week it would all even out? B)

    Aftermarket Seat

That looks great, pnguzzi! Nice to finally see what Russell could do for a Stelvio. I got my Bill Mayer back Friday, only had time for a short ride, but am very happy. I'd post a pic, but it looks just like Bigtex's back on page one. Good that we have some quality options.

    Aftermarket Seat

My stock seat arrived at Bill Mayer on Friday. Yesterday, I received a phone call saying it was done and being shipped out. Now THAT'S fast! I'll post back once I receive it and have a chance to do a little testing.

    Aftermarket Seat

I think my dilemma was just solved - checked the Bill Mayer Saddles website today and they are running a 25% off special, now through the end of October. That's just the incentive I needed to go that route. Will report back...

    Aftermarket Seat

I'm on the list for a group-buy discount at Russell, orders to be submitted starting tomorrow. I'm still on the fence though between Russell and the Bill Mayer version that Tex has. The Mayer has the looks I want, and I know they make a quality product. The Russell has a cult following, and...

    Aftermarket Seat

Boy, this is a timely topic for me right now - just returned from a trip to Indianapolis for the Moto GP, 600-700 miles X 2 coming and going from Texas. After about 200 miles on day one, I found myself squirming, after 300, I stopped and got out my Airhawk, after 500, I swapped for a sheepskin...

    Won't start without jumper cables?

Yes, I cleaned it - didn't lube it. Cleaned the the starter cables and made sure they were tight as well. It started fine again this morning, so I'm going to continue to ride and hope that if it is going to act up, it does so before I head out cross country at the end of the month.

    Won't start without jumper cables?

Well, I reinstalled the battery, cleaned the cables and made sure both were good and tight. The negative had a little corrosion, nothing bad, and the positive was clean as a whistle. Hit the starter and it fired right up. That should have made me happy, but I wondered if sitting cold in the...

    Will do. Thanks Todd.

    Won't start without jumper cables?

2009 with 2800 miles, returning from a trip across neighboring state, stopped after the first 100 miles to remove jacket and get a drink. Hit the starter button and got "clunk" instead of whirring starter or "click-click-click" of low battery. Checked all the battery/starter wires and fuses...

    Throtle Lock for 2010 Stelvio

I'd have to check for the part number at home, but I do remember it's the same part as for the Aprilias (Black Dog's part # was like APR001 or something). I was impressed with their knowledge of the Kaokos and what fits what, and more so with the fact that they stock them, not order them in...

    Throtle Lock for 2010 Stelvio

Re: Throttle Lock for 2010 Stelvio I just had the same dilemma before heading out on a trip to Arizona, also have MG heated grips and handguards on my bike. I ordered a Kaoko from Twisted Throttle because I've had good luck with both the lock and the business, but after a long wait they said...

New Stelvio owner has saddlebag questions

+1 on the Hepco Beckers. I had an almost new set on my previous ride so I kept them and ordered the mounting brackets for the Stelvio. Took about six weeks for the brackets to come in, but they're finally here and look solid. The boxes themselves are the aluminum 38 liter "classic" or...

    Fog light relay, again

I know, but this saved me some time, no waiting for shipping. Not knocking anyone else's product, just figured someone else might have an immediate need so here's another option.
